Corbin - Laurel Lake KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Hiking to Laurel River Dam, fishing along the lake edge, and exploring the trails near Cumberland Falls State Park give campers a full activity roster at Corbin/Laurel Lake KOA. The campground sits close enough to the interstate for an easy approach off the highway, with reviewers noting the lead-in is straightforward and access is good. A back trail leads directly to the dam, making on-foot water access a genuine draw for those who want to get out of the rig and move.

Sites run mostly pull-through, which works well for larger rigs, though space between neighbors can be tight. Several reviewers mention that rigs can end up eight to ten feet apart, so campers who need room to spread out should factor that in before booking. The gravel layout makes it a bit tricky to distinguish roads from sites on arrival, but staff routinely escort guests to their spots by golf cart and check in throughout the stay. Nightly trash pickup at 5 p.m. and clean facilities round out the day-to-day experience. Some interstate noise carries at night, though multiple reviewers describe it as minor.

"Take a quiet peaceful walk down the back trail to Laurel River Dam," notes Carl J., and that access point is one of the more distinctive features here. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer are available year-round, along with WiFi, showers, and a dump station. The campground allows pets and accepts reservations. Nearby alternatives include camp riverslanding for a different setting, and those planning a longer regional trip can browse campsites near Corbin to compare options before heading out.

Campers regularly cited friendly, helpful staff and well-maintained facilities as key strengths. A common theme was the peaceful lake setting, though site spacing varies with some areas feeling cramped.

Creepy

This was the creepiest place I have ever stayed. I had all kinds of strange vibes from it. Maybe because it was raining. I don’t know. The guy who worked there was super nice. I won’t be back though.

A little too cramped for 5 stars

Check in was nice. Kind staff. Clear directions. Escorted to our site. Trash pickup nightly at 5.

It is clean and well run. But just too cramped for 5 stars. Neighbors on our back side were 8 to 10 feet between rigs.

We didn't use the restroom, showers or the pool but it all looked good.

Lead-in off of the interstate was easy. Access is good. It is nicly secluded yet close to plenty of resources.  Mostly pull thru sites.

But if you are looking for elbow room, you'll want to look elsewhere.

Rustic Forest Campground

Our site was level, but it was hard to tell the sites if the campground staff hadn’t led us to our site. The area around our site was all gravel. Made it a little tricky to see what was a road and what was a site. The bathrooms were clean but a little rustic.

Small but convenient

At check in, they led us to our spot in their golf cart, making sure everything was good for our set up. They checked on us multiple times during our 4 day stay. Being April, it was still a little cool and we had a rain day, their are several places to go around Corbin. Take a quiet peaceful walk down the back trail to Laurel River Dam. You can hear the interstate a little at night but not enough to be a bother. The sites could be just a little larger so you can spread out but they worked fine for what we needed.

Centrally located

Corbin n/Laurel Lake KOA

First! Do not trust your navigation. Once you get off the interstate look for the KOA signs. Your navigation will take you in a completely different direction for some reason.

This was my second time staying at the Corbin/Laurel lake KOA. The best thing about it as far as I can see is it is centrally located to several state parks. It is also on the edge of Corbin south area plenty of amenities nearby. The interstate is also very nearby which adds some pros and cons; pro easy access for traveling; con constant white noise.

This is an older KOA. Very well-maintained they are in the process of adding more spaces towards the back. When they are allowed to open it they have a swimming pool there is also a small campground kitchen near the office.

This is one of the first KOA‘s I’ve been to that has good Wi-Fi. I could actually live stream. I have not been able to do that in any other KOA this trip.

Small and tight

This is a small campground with very tight spots. Owner and employees are very helpful and friendly to make your camping better.

Sister Shenanigans

Stayed at Corbin/ Laurel Lake KOA near Cumberland Falls State Park while at a group event. We were in the nicely shaded loop and had more then enough room to set up and visit with each other. We were in the area for the Moonbow but unfortunately it was overcast and we missed seeing it. We enjoyed hiking in the area and had an excellent time at the KOA. The campground was well maintained and I tent trailer camped. My site was big and level.
