STAY AWAY -RUDE

Friends I want to ask you do not use or refer family and friends to Laurel Lake Camping Resort in Corbin. We booked a reservation before their system upgrade per the management we just spoke to. We booked two camp sites for July. At the time of booking my daughter was told she could cancel outside 30 days. I never received an email confirmation and we called back asking for confirmation email. They sent an email with Zero information included. There is a PDF attached which has no information in it. Now that we did not secure a camper for our dates and went to cancel, they referenced a cancellation policy we never saw nor was made aware if through their email process when we made the phone booking. I replied to the email multiple times. My daughter talked to them multiple times, My wife talked to them and I also did trying to find out details of the site, which I never received, only verbally over the phone. They behaved as a small operation, which is fine when you conduct yourself with integrity and provide good customer service. Neither of which they did. Now that we cancelled they informed us they will keep 100% of the deposit and we are more than 60 days before our reservation. Again, The management on the phone admitted their system has been upgraded 5 times by that we just talked to and made the comment of people don't receive or they do not receive emails all the time. Well, I received theirs with no info, so seems like they have practiced their blame of technology on others besides me. While I overpaid for a lesson learned I ask you to avoid them. My large family will for sure. If they miss out only only a couple of bookings because of my experience during their slow season then karma has worked. Stay away from Laurel Lake Camping Resort!!!

Staff will go above and beyond

Beautiful campground with the rustic feel. We are In a 40ft class A. Our site was spacious and private. I asked the office for a great spacious site and she did not disappoint. The water attraction was closed when we got there, and the owner got on the phone called in staff/life guards to come in so my 2 kids could play on it for an hour. To me that is 5 stars all in its self. When we hooked up 50 amp was not working, ok with us we were fine running off 30. But the guys were right there doing everything they could to get it up and running and they did with in 15 min. Office and staff are great and you can tell they care about the customers and the place! My only recommendation is that the bathroom lights that are censored stay on a little longer. They would shut off in the middle of shower, just a wave of the arm turned them back on quick but they should stay on a bit longer. With that said bathrooms and showers were clean. Showers are very spacious. Beautiful place.

Not Big Rig Friendly

Staff is very nice and helpful. Says Big Rig friendly, not so much. Low branches and very tight turns. Some spaces were long. Lots of blowups for the kids. Pond to fish in and a large pond to swim in. An old mini golf. Walking trails and frisbee golf. GARMIN GPS is wrong. Keep going.

Nice family run campground!

Nice campground surrounded by forest. They have a pond for fishing and another pond for swimming with nice Sandy beach. They also put out bouncy houses for the kids at no extra cost. You can rent golf carts which is helpful since the campground is fairly large, the front and back sites are separated by a manmade dam that forms the swimming pond. Tent site tucked away in the woods give you the secluded experience with amenities nearby. Bathrooms and showers are what you'd expect and kept clean and we'll stocked. Family run campground and they work hard to give a family feeling. Movies on the lawn, dance parties, bands on Holiday weekend while we were there. Very close to Daniel Boone forest and Laurel Lake and Marina's. This was our 2nd time and we will definitely come back

Worse camping trip ever

Here is my experience at Laurel Lake Camping Resort and boy was it one for the history books. First and Foremost here is a brief overview of my simple family. We do not party, we are not loud, we do not drink or smoke, and we take pride in the campsite we rent as if its our own little proud small piece of land. My family and my Uncle got adjoining properties My family has been hounded all week by the security personal drilling us about the rules, which we follow closely, but are still educated every couple of days by the host which honestly is very annoying. Here is our issue. My dad was accused of stealing Firewood by the hostess. We was in his jeep and the hostess whipped her golf cart beside us into the ditch with much aggression almost causing us to hit her. Here is the exact conversation, Hostess comes to my window in a panic stating“Do you need firewood” my dad says out of confusion” no we do not plan on making a fire tonight but thanks” Hostess then says“it looked as if you stopped at the fire shack” my dad again confused says“ uh no we was giving my wife some money that was on that golf cart” hostess lady once more says”it looked like you got some wood” now my dad figures now we are getting accused of stealing tells the hostess“ I am done here and I have had many issues with my stay and will be voicing my concerns” then my dad pulls away. We simply stopped at the new check in shack to give my mom that was on her golf cart$20 for the store which was unfortunately closed. My dad proceeded on to a little snack shack on the campground and voices his concern to the girl working at what is called the sugar shack. My dad went on to tell the worker how he did not appreciate being accused of stealing and simply told the young worker he knew she was not at fault and simply worked there but please voice his concern to upper mgt. Next thing we know the worker at the sugar shack calls ahead to the host and accuses us of cursing her out. Wow, we cant win for losing here, we dont even curse and my dad simply told her please tell management what happened to us with the hostess. The host a couple hundred yards ahead pulls his golf cart sideways stopping us from proceeding to our 5th wheel camper. Host asks Dad whats the problem, then dad proceeds to voice all his concerns. Host then says he did not believe his wife the hostess accused him of stealing. My dad who at this point realizes he is at his ends with no ways of winning this host vs camper battle turns the other cheak. Wow..... So here is what we have become at Laurel Lake Camping resort. In one week we have went from good honest people that loves camping to being labeled as; Lying, Cheating, cursing, stealing Thugs. Thanks Laurel Lake resort for the worse time camping We have ever had. Might I say We are are avid campers and this was our 8th time in 3 years camping at Laurel Lake resort. We use to Love it, but Now that it is under new Management with new Hosts we are finished. P.s. Every camper this past week was also deceived to book with the promise there water inflatable was re-opened on July 1st and they offered no refund for there lie. Also they have several fines that they will try to steal money from your credit cards. One fine is if you speed past 5 mph they will charge your card$25. They cant even legally do this but they are. Another fine is$500 if they find a cigerrette butt on your site, how do they even know its not yours. And bad thing is they say they can fine you up to 10 days after your departure. Beware about putting your cards on file with them

I booked a site and it was my first time staying.. had to wait two hours after we arrived for another site because someone was in mine and were there another night.. 2nd time I booked was one month before my date to stay and I get an email saying they canceled my reservation because it was overbooked!! We had a few others gonna camp to so we got campsites close together..so that messed everything up.. just be aware when booking!!

Highly recommend

We were here for a couple weeks during Covid. Nice sites, cafe that delivers, a pond and a lake, wooded lots. Very nice management! Will return. Works well for small rv like ours or big rigs. FHU. GS
