Nice Free Campground
This is a nice campground on a fishing lake. No amenities besides picnic tables and fire circles. Very few level sites. Free. We are the only campers tonight.

Ramblin' Rose
Great place to stop for the night. We were impressed with the host/owner. We contacted prior to our schedule time. Running later than expected. No worries and a couple of text messages later we were good to go! Will admit the place is a bit worn form all the years but clean! Bath and showers were being updated when we were there. Looking forward to see what they have done the next time we pass through. We honestly felt like we had the place to ourselves. Just a one night stay, but the evening sky was incredible. If you stop and want to grab some great food, Bob's Burgers is outstanding!

Goodman State Fishing Lake
Quiet Free Primitive at Fishing Lake
The roads are rutted and were muddy in January. There was still snow on the ground. The lake was very low. Most sites are only big enough for a tent or small camper. I only saw 2 larger sites for my 26ft travel trailer. I think there was a fire ring at all sites. Sites by water had a bench. The larger sites had a covered patio with picnic table, one also had grills. There is a bathroom, I didn't use but it looked outhouse style. It was a little difficult to maneuver with my 2wd SUV on the roads, but I would go back. It was peaceful.

Easy Access Overnight Stop
Right outside of Dodge City, this RV park is easy to access for an overnight stop. We stayed during the off season and scheduled by calling the number listed at the site-she made it extremely easy. There was a lot of road noise and an occasional train. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was nice and hot. They offer several lots of various lengths, including several pull through; in a very basic park.

Good spot to sleep for the night
Good spot to crash for the night on those long travel days. HUGE concrete parking lot. Pretty level. Well lighted and felt safe.
Called and asked before we showed up and they were very pleasant. Requested that we park behind the Hampton Inn adjacent to the casino.
I'll definitely stay here again when traveling through.

We stopped here for the night. There are a lot of stores not far down the street.we had a spot in the back witch was really quiet and dark. Made for a good night sleep.

Ford State Fishing Lake
Not on the weekend
My girlfriend and I were driving across country and spent the day in Dodge city. We were looking for a place close by and this Lakeside campsite popped up. Our GPS took us to a different place so be careful when you are trying to find this lake. It is actually a very nice little public campground. It’s fantastic that it’s free. We found a very nice campsite that was apparently more level than other people have found here, and set up camp. Unfortunately, for us, we stayed on a Saturday night. And apparently locals like to come out and party. We had a group about 50 feet away who wanted to fiesta all night instead of siesta all night. They kept us up until 3 AM. My suggestion would be to stay here during the week and not on a Saturday night.
