    Gunsmoke RV Park

    Nicely Separated Campsites

This Campground has one of the most separated sites of the places we've stayed. Most of the sites at the rear part of the park have spaces separated by one's own grassy area and trees, where the picnic table is situated. There's a vice of 50 or 30 amp power, water, dump, showers/bathrooms, laundry, game room and pool. We had to arrive after office closure and the owner was very accommodating about sending our space number, map to the site, and codes by text. WiFi has a password, unlike a few other places with unprotected WiFi.

    Gunsmoke RV Park

    Good overnight stop

Older park but well maintained. WiFi is slow. Cell service is good. Site spacing is excellent. The pool was clean. Sites near entrance may be an issue with highway noise and an active railroad nearby.

    Gunsmoke RV Park

    Nice park with spacious sites

Sites 50 through 82 are in the back away from the highway and very quiet. 33 through 44 are back in sites and front the highway and are noisier. 50 to 82 have 20 feet of grassy space between sites, I highly recommend these sites. They also have trees to provide shade. Some sites have multiple sewer dumps so your positioning of your rig is less of a problem. They accept the Dyrt Pro card for a 10% discount. All level sites. 😊

    Gunsmoke RV Park

    Comfortable and secure

All hookups function properly, gravel sites fairly level and easy to access. Laundry and showers available, have not used them yet. Bad time of year for exploring the area. Still very arid and dry this spring. No complaints about the park.

These properties offer varying levels of amenities and comfort for travelers seeking alternatives to tent camping. Horse Thief Reservoir, approximately 43 miles northwest of Wright, maintains waterfront cabin rentals that connect visitors directly to lake recreation. What to do

Fishing opportunities: Horse Thief Reservoir provides year-round fishing access with active populations of multiple species. Visitors regularly observe fish activity even without fishing equipment. According to Matthew G., "I don't fish but see and hear fish jumping all the time."

Water recreation: The reservoir supports swimming, boating and water sports during summer months. Shawn notes, "Beautiful lake to fish, swim, and ski. It doesn't have much if any shade, so bring your own. Otherwise it is a great place to stay, especially if you have a boat."

What you should know

Weather considerations: Exposed sites experience significant wind that can affect camping comfort. Missy A. noted at Gunsmoke RV Park, "Come to find out, it is very windy here, so awnings are not used very often."
