    Salt Plains State Park Campground

Beautiful spots next to the river

This is our second time staying here and it’s always so peaceful and quiet. Several spots are butted up right against the river with lots of shade trees. There are 30 and 50 amp spots and all the spots have water. There are plenty of tent camping spots as well. Showers and flushing toilets and a playground are nearby. Great hiking and great birdwatching. You do have to make reservations online or go to the Ranger station to pay.

    Medicine Lodge City Park

    Great place

There are a few spots by the bathroom, across from the baseball field. Bathrooms have flush toilets and a shower. Besides the baseball players, we're the only ones here.

    Salt Plains State Park Campground

Great weekend at Great Salt Plains

Beautiful campsites. I stayed at tent sites on South Spillway and North Spillway. Hiking was awesome. Views from top of the spillway are unbelievable. Lots of fishing going on. Restrooms near campsites are very clean. Showers are new and nice.

    WiFi is available at office.

Verizon service works good throughout the park.

Two years ago when I visited I was using T-Mobile, and it hardly work at all. Very bad signal.

I know many locals use AT&T and seem to have a good signal.

Champion Ridge Inn & Country RV Park

    Quiet and beautiful farm setting

Very nice small camping area at a farm. Very friendly and helpful host. There’s a lot of great history in the surrounding area and lots to see.

    Salt Plains State Park Campground

    Pure peace

I've been many times. Each time, even during the summer season, I have to say this is the quietest lake I've ever been to. Now, I can't say it's always that way, but it was when I was there. I've been in June, August, and November, and the beautiful, natural setting is so refreshing. If you're looking for a lazy, laid-back time, this is your place. If you're looking for a lot of amenities, not so much. Might also be the only lake in Oklahoma that has salty water (not like ocean, though). Catfish are abundant and LARGE. Lake is fairly shallow. Wonderful hiking.

    Coldwater Lake

    Beautiful lakeside camping

Pulled in for the night on trip to Missouri. It was a Columbus Day so no one at entrance booth and nobody answering posted phone numbers. Met a gentleman in a park pickup and he said just pick a spot and put your money in the box when you leave - $26 a night, with electric and water and dump station available. It is beautifully maintained and we had the place to ourselves - liked it so much we stayed 2 nights. Had good Verizon signal. The site data says 40 ft max, but many of the spots could accommodate 45-50 ft without a problem. No pull-thru sites - all spots are back-in, but laid out for easy backing.

    Medicine Lodge City Park

    Native Nations History

It was a little tough getting into the park, road construction on US 160. Got here, the only RV here, Electric and water are BOTH available and there is a city maintained dump station in town! They ask for donations, which I will gladly give. Making a cross country trip home on smaller US highways. The drive here from the West is very pleasant. I look forward to exploring the area tomorrow.
