Oakwood RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Just off I-35 near Clear Lake State Park Campground, Oakwood RV Park sits in the north-central Iowa town of Clear Lake, drawing overnight travelers and longer-stay campers alike during its April 15 through October 15 season. Access is straightforward. Reviewers consistently note the easy pull-in from the interstate, and the owners have a hands-on approach, meeting arriving rigs at the site to guide hookups. Full hookups are available, with electric, water, and sewer connections and a maximum rig length of 120 feet.

Sites run close together with limited shade, something worth factoring in during summer months. That said, Peter and Linda K. describe it as "a very quiet campground," and that sentiment shows up consistently across reviews. Families with children were present during at least one stay, though reviewers note there are no dedicated activity areas or programming for kids. The park also hosts a nondenominational Sunday church service on-site.

Rates have come in around $35 per night, with payment accepted by check or cash only. No Good Sam discounts apply. WiFi, showers, toilets, and a dump station round out the amenities. One reviewer flagged a chlorine taste in the tap water, though noted it was comparable to standard municipal water. For a wider look at the region, there are campgrounds around Clear Lake that offer different settings and site configurations. Oakwood works well as a reliable overnight stop on an I-35 corridor run, or as a low-key base for a few nights in the area.

Many campers appreciated the friendly owners and quiet atmosphere. Sites are generally roomy though some noted close spacing. Easy I-35 access with helpful service.

Pretty campground, easy access.

Great campground for our overnight, would be a wonderful extended stay as well. Friendly owners came right up when we pulled in, $35 a night, no cards but check or cash were fine. No Good Sam discount. Easy access off I-35. Guided right into the site, easy hookups. Water had a chlorine taste is the only drawback, but probably no worse than city water. Nice and quiet, many families around. Had a great overnight and a lazy morning before a 2 PM checkout. Would stay again when we're back this way.
