Enjoy a stay at Heritage Farm and experience all the exhilaration that an Indiana farm has to offer. Heritage Farm is a working alpaca farm with over 60 alpacas you can watch and interact with. Make friends with our black Labrador, Juno. Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, some barn cats and our horse, Stormy. If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the Top-Ten Bicentennial Barns in the state. Recently, our farm was the recipient of a rural preservation award from the Indiana Landmarks Foundation. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. **Lodging Options ** There are three overnight lodging options at Heritage Farm. An overnight stay at our 1850’s authentic log cabin will provide you a pioneer experience. We also having tent camping and RV parking available. For the more adventurous, campers can spend the night suspended several feet about the ground in our new Tentsile tree tent. Let’s face it, sleeping in the trees like a jungle animal is just plain fun. Take the kids or be a kid yourself to engage your playful, creative side. Look down on the forest floor from a whole new angle and revel in the novelty of doing something just for the fun of it. In addition to having animals you can touch and see, we love to educate people about alpacas and the joys of alpaca ownership. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens, scarves, teddy bears and toys. Pick up some delicious honey collected from our hives or some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens! Situated on 120 acres of Indiana’s agricultural heartland, Heritage Farm is located just 60 minutes north of the Indianapolis, between Lafayette and Kokomo and about 2 1/2 hours southeast of Chicago. To find out more about having a wedding, reunion or retreat at Heritage Farm, visit our Heritage Farm Events page.

        Nice for the area

The owners are very nice, campgrounds are super clean, lots for my children to do. My only complaint is, it’s your typical campground where you’re right on top of your neighbor. If you don’t mind, it’s fine. We prefer to stick to state parks or places that offer more seclusion. Overall, would recommend!

        Expensive

We stayed here because of the discount offered through Passport America, and somehow the price was still too high. We paid $42 for a FHU pull through site (that was after the discount). However, it was a nice park and it was nice to get caught up on laundry and showers.

You can pay for laundry with the CSCPay app ($5 credit when you first sign up, so your first load is free), or you can pay with credit card. No coins taken. Laundry was nice and clean and the dryers worked excellent.

There are FHU pull through sites, or back in sites with electric only (there is a dump station available). There are also cute cabins available as well.

There are lots of things to do here at the park, but the park itself is out in the middle of nowhere. It was a really eerie feeling when we were there, because almost every spot was taken, but nobody was there. I guess people pay for the season and leave their trailers on site and come in for the weekend.

There’s a nice tent area in the back, rolling grassy area where we let our dog run around off leash since nobody was around. The lake in the middle of the park was really nice, and you can rent pedal gokarts or golf carts, or boats for paddling around the lake.

The camp store is nice, lots of food and supplies and gifts available for sale. There are trash dumpsters here but no recycling.

        Beautiful Campground off the interstate

Booked here last minute for the night on my way west. Beautiful campground with lots of activities for the family. They are all dog friendly with a few small dog runs spread throughout the sites. Primitive is $60 n/, full water/electricity is $80 n/. A bit pricey, but It’s worthwhile due to all that they have; horses, goats (that you can feed), a medium camping store with an ice cream shop attached, showers and running toilets.

GPS will take you to the back entrance that you cannot get in at. Instead of turning at the light, continue going down to the roundabout until you see the KOA sign and it’ll take you to the actual entrance and then office to sign in.

Nice state campground with full hookups!

We stay mid-week as we are retired. Full hookup site were $30 a night. Sites seem large and well maintained. All the staff that we interacted with were very friendly. We kayaked the reservoir, used the beach and fished. Finally, we hauled our bikes to the reservoir overlook and then rode them over the dam. A very relaxing trip. T- mobile cell service was 1 bar, however we had our T-mobile internet tower and got 3 bars. Slow speeds but we could still stream tv.

Took my hubby there for his birthday. Primitive tent camping is more then affordable, and the fishing was AWESOME!! He had an amazing time. We've been back 5 times since then. It's a hidden gem for sure!

        Nice campground

Campground was nice. Site was clean and level. People were friendly l. Downside was the bathrooms. The women's bathrooms had overflowing toilets the whole time we were there. They couldn't seem to figure out how to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the plumbing in my camper wasn't working either, so it wasn't great. The men's bathroom plumbing was also had issues with the sink faucets. The shower temp was impossible to regulate. Also, dogs aren't allowed on the beach. I understand that not everyone wants to be swimming with my dogs though.

        The best of what’s around!

We stayed at Mystic Waters Campground for the Dave Matthews weekend and had the best time! It’s clean and the staff was so friendly. Our floats on the lake while listening to DMB on the speakers was just a perfect way to spend the day. Our shuttle to and from the show was great as well as the breakfast burrito I had one morning. This was everything and more!

        Fun place!

This was a fun week here! The water park is so fun. But then there were the farm animals, which was so sweet and amazing.

We took over our leftovers on the approved list to feed the horses and goats. The animals were sooo sweet!

The campground is huge with a cool stream separating them. There’s a trail with a bridge to cut across which is fun!

        Lovely RV resort

I love it here. The owners are wonderful and the resort is beautiful. Lots are level and include a picnic table and fire pit, with nice space between sites. The campsite is immaculate and well appointed. There is a pretty pond, pool, and many activities for kids. I enjoyed the peaceful ambience and walking trails through the trees.

        Nice secluded but safe location

The beautiful farm is located in a rural area. Upon arrival we wasn’t sure where to go. There wasn’t a sign but we called Tim and he came right out and showed us to our spot. He was very friendly and accommodating. We felt safe and knew if we needed anything he was there to help. The tree tent was very comfortable. Picnic table and fire pit right there. We cooked dinner on the fire pit grill. The only one small complaint is the people staying in the cabin were extremely loud. Even though we was at the secluded area their voices carried until 3am. It would not stop us from coming back but should be noted. We walked around the farm, checked out the alpacas and goats. There was a class reunion going on so we didn’t want to bother anyone for a farm tour. Plus we was only there one night. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. I recommend checking this place out.

        Very Clean Place

The area is extremely nice and relatively quiet. Sites are spacious and it did not feel like we were cramped in, like some campgrounds. Not many grocery stores in the immediate area, ensure you have what you need or.plan to drive in to Peru (about 25-30 min away). Internet rarely worked and Verizon coverage was extremely minimal. Brand new bathhouse was extremely nice.

        Large very nicely maintained KOA

Very large KOA. They have all different types of sites. Pull through back in. Super deluxe, deluxe, full hook ups etc. Love the pool if you have kids this would be a place to stay for a few days. We ordered pizza for dinner they deliver to the site which is nice. Ice cream available a lot of flavors and real ice cream not just soft serve. One of yhe nicer KOAs we stayed in.

        Great space, bathrooms need updating

This campground was wonderful. We stayed on a Thursday, but saw that they have a ton of activities going on during the weekend including live music and cornhole tournaments. We will def be back for a weekend. There is a pool which looked clean and well maintained. It is mostly RVs. We had a tent spot along the creek (38 I think?). The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom conditions. The floor tiles were breaking off and there was certainly a mold issue. We went on a 22 day cross country road trip and this was the only shower I didn't shower in (used the shower bag we brought instead). That is saying a lot... I definitely don't have high standards for camp showers. Otherwise, a good experience. Customer service was great & I hope they can renovate the bathrooms bc it's a great spot!!

Lisa and Brent have created a perfect spot to relax for a weekend getaway and enjoy the shows at both the campground and at deer creek. RV sites are full hookup and very level. Lake at the campground is great to float around in on a hot summer day. We enjoyed the bus ride both days to see Dave Matthews Band.

        Memorial Day Weekend 2022

Keep in mind it was Memorial Day weekend. Hancock County had 2" of rain on Friday. The campground (lower) sits at a low elevation. Our site was 70% flooded. Fortunately we have two entrance doors. Staff was friendly all weekend. There are essentially 3 phases to the campground. We were on the creek side. Honestly if you have a big rig or large TT don't go to that side. Ask for on the hill and backed up to the fun park. When you call to make a reservation, they won't give you a site # until you arrive. Bathrooms were decent size, but most of the time nasty. Miniature golf was free, pool was a little green (but we had a lot of rain). Stocked pond. Good bands throughout the weekend. The hill offered more space and had updated facilities, small market, grill, ice cream. The family fun area does cost extra. We were on site 86, 50 amp service, but when everyone started turning on their AC, my surge protector kept kicking due to voltage swings. We were on an electric + water site. The dump station on creek side were not functioning and we had to have our tanks pumped. Camp sites were tight. Majority were seasonals. If we come back in the future will be on a full hookup on the hill. Close enough to get to IMS. Happy Camping!

        Mississinawa a nice weekend getaway

We venture up to mississinawa reservoir pretty often as it's close and nice. Friendly ataff, well jept grounds. Note not all bath houses are created equal here. One of their bath houses that is most convenient to more campsites , unless renovated this year really lacks..getting the proper temperature is difficult, it lacks descent privacy and you have to continually push a button to get water. (Can be inconvenient when rinsing soapy hair) Now the negative out of the way... it's lg enough that there's usually a site available. UNLESS it's during a special event such as their reenactment or their 4th of July celebration and fireworks. They have a descent beach w/a very nice bath house and connecting concession stand, convenience store. Plenty of roads to ride bikes on. A designated boat ramp and docks if you want to bring your boat along. Fishing is good with a fish cleaning station for campers. (Note- Asian carp are an issue here) Fire rings but I find campfires a a make it or break it...I won't camp there is they don't allow campfires. Trails for hiking. We have camped in their nice but simple cabins. But they do have an issue with raccoons. During one of our cabin stays raccoons really did a number on a window screen in an attempt to het it to our food and the staff was indifferent to the problem. Still it is a nice park/campground I'd recommend. Be alert to the weather though as this area seems to always get hit by bad storms. Happy Camping!
