Spring Lake Campground

Reservations are available at this privately managed campground along Spring Lake, with nightly rates ranging from $25-$35. The facility accommodates RVs up to 40 feet with electric and water hookups, plus a dump station for convenience. Campers can access sites by driving in, walking in, or arriving by boat directly from the water.

The campground sits directly on Spring Lake with immediate water access for fishing and paddling. Equipment rentals include kayaks, paddleboards, and boats, while a tandem bike is available for exploring the Great River Bike Trail that runs through the property. Danika P. notes the area offers "sunsets and stargazing, fishing and kayaking, biking and relaxing." The on-site camp shop stocks ice, snacks, and cold treats. Campers frequently spot wildlife in the surrounding refuge area, particularly birds.

Sites provide electric and water connections, with portable restrooms distributed throughout the grounds. The proximity to active railroad tracks concerns some visitors, though recent campers report minimal nighttime train noise. Staff maintain the facilities regularly and assist with equipment rentals. For those exploring the broader region, campgrounds around Savanna provide additional options within the Mississippi River corridor.

Super cute, super friendly

We stumbled upon this place deciding to camp at the last minute on a perfect weather weekend. While it wasn’t as remote as we would have preferred, it was well kept, had plenty of amenities and very friendly ownership.

Highly recommend

Booking online was easy; we booked two nights and had a wonderful stay. The campground is very peaceful with spacious sites and a pretty view right on the water. The owners were so kind and helpful. The bike trail is within steps of your site. Hookups for electric and water available. Well maintained portapotties at various points throughout the grounds. (My only concern was the proximity to railroad tracks since I’m a light sleeper, but I was not at all bothered. Didn’t hear a single train whistle during the night and daytime passing trains appear to be infrequent.)

Amazing location!

This was such an inviting clean and beautiful camping area. Right on the water, you can rent boats/kayaks/paddleboard, fishing, so much to do. They have a camp shop, with ice pop water popsicles, freeze treats and a nice hang out spot inside with a lovely fan. The water was extremely low, but still managed to fish at boat launch Great staff and was great to walk around at dusk with everyone waving hello. Great atmosphere great people great times! Will definitely be coming back.

awesome vintage campground- gateway to beautiful National Wildlife Refuge

Sunsets and stargazing, fishing and kayaking, biking and relaxing! This campground is the perfect sanctuary for your family and friends to get away, enjoy quiet time and be outdoors.  It's like a step back in time in the best way possible. The quiet nature of this campground allow campers to enjoy the protected wildlife of the refuge (bird watchers- bring you cameras), access to Spring Lake fishing and the Great River Bike trail runs right through the campground for biking, skateboarding or walking.  Rent the tandem bike, play a game, take out a paddle board,  make a fire and relax. We love it here.
