Wahlstrom Hollow sits along a creek road cutting through the South Hills of Idaho, within Sawtooth National Forest. The area is free to use with no amenities whatsoever, so campers should handle restroom needs at a developed site beforehand. Space is tight, with room for two or three rigs at most, and two of those spots require high-clearance vehicles. Shade is heavy throughout, but flat ground for tent camping is hard to find. The site sits adjacent to a hiking trail that also serves as a snowshoe and backcountry ski route in winter, making it a reasonable base for those activities. Third Fork Campground is just up the road and provides developed facilities for those who need them.
