    Great Location

We stayed here for 4 days/3 nights in October.   The location is directly across the street from the hot spring pools.   Our spot #6 was on the river.  We walked across the street to the hot spring pools and a park where in the summer you can tube the river.  At the back of the RV park is a trail you can walk along the  river and will come to a place where you can enter the river right into a hot spring.   The small 15 space campground is right on main street and you can walk to a large number of sites, restaurants, shops, historic museum and buildings and a small market.  All the spaces are full hook up and have a concrete patio pad and trees for shade.   If you need to charge solar the space in front of each spot has full sun.  There is also a path near the hot springs pools that follows the river and is paved.

Pretty spot with a Cool Suspension Bridge

Nice Location right along the Portneuf River with very easy acess to the hot springs thanks to a cool suspension bridge!  The campsites are very well shaded and there are options for RV hookups.

    Simple spot for RVs

This spot for mostly RVs was a no thrills place for people who want to spend most of their time out of the campground or hanging out in their RVs.  The site is set up with full RV hookups around the perimeter of a large gravel parking lot area.  There is more RV sites a little higher up and further east.

There also looked like they had small apartments for rent for the day kind of like an Airbnb.  We weren'table to see the insides of these apartments but they were unfinished on the outside.  There are hotsprings all around Lava and there are plenty of restaurants and small touristy shops along the main street

    Ok for a stopover

Right in the reservoir and by the boat ramp. Lots of people having fun skiing or fishing. RV park is just ok. Sites super close together. Booked full hookups, but got water/elec only (they do have a dump to use before leaving). No bathrooms or showers. Would give 2 stars but Valerie the camp host is super nice and accommodating. Had my choice of a lakeside spot (no shade, back-in) or a pull thru under a tree. Chose the tree. Would stay again, but just as quick overnight.

    City of Blackfoot RV Park

Simple spot to stay in Blackfoot

This is for RV parking with electrical hookups for 20 bucks at the airport. 18 hookups and awesome dog park. Also a bike ride away from a very nice park on the lake with lots of play space for kids during the day. No toilets or showers but a simple stay and there is Wal-Mart everything else you need right in town. Blackfoot Wal-Mart does not allow overnight parking. There is water hookup during season. Also free dump station at fire station.

    Great KOA like campground

A great little campground with many full hookups for RVs and some tent sites.  There is a small store in the office and a pretty little lake nearby but we didnt see any fish.  Lucky for the fisher though the Portneuf River is also right in the campground.  Theres a little bit of shade but not really any large trees.  If you want to head further up into the mountains this is a great spot to head north from.  It is also very close <5 minutes from Lava Hot Springs.

    North Bingham County Park

    Not for us

This was our first attempt to find a place to land in the Idaho Falls Area. Located about 10 miles south of Idaho Falls, it is a relatively new 12-unit RV Park (although they list prices for tent sites). When we arrived, there were two open spots but no apparent host or staff on-site. Sites are close to each other in typical RV Park fashion. There were some nice shade trees but they really did not provide much privacy/ separation between sites. The office was closed and you needed a code to access the restroom which we could see no way of obtaining. There were only large RVs camped there even though there are supposedly tent sites (without a code to the bathroom and nowhere that I could see to pitch a tent, I don’t see tenters staying there). There was some road noise and a chain link fence surrounded the campground. Nothing scenic about it. We moved on.

    Nice Location

We stopped her in October and  the water level was extremely low.   The boats were dry docked and could not access the marina.  We chose this campground because we wanted to visit American Falls, which we did.  The area was beautiful, but there was not enough water to create a fall.

The campground is very peaceful with very large spaces and well kept.   We has a large grass area with a picnic table and fire pit, fires were prohibited while we were there because of the low water conditions.  Behind our space was the river/lake area that was dry.   Still the park had great views of the mountains and was very pretty.   There are many trails around for bike riding or off road vehicles.

The sites are full hook up, there is a bath/shower house and a laundry.  The staff is very helpful.  We were a bit early and when we arrived Jason was mowing our space.  It was completed very quickly.  There are restaurants in town about 5-10 minutes away and a grocery.  Wifi was excellent on T-Mobile and Visible.

Got a big nope from us

We were booked here and did not stay. It sort of looked like an abandoned RV park, there is no manager or grounds keeper on site. You check in at the casino. The grass was completely overgrown, the park was not well kept and seemed to have a mix of one nighters and extended stayers. Several sites seemed to be housing a lot of people, a few RVs had multiple vehicles parked around them. And there were lots of random vehicles parked along the fence line. No playground, no extras. It was dirty. No cell coverage, no Wi-Fi, which is fine if you’re in the beauty of God’s creation, but this is not that place. This is literally a place to park if you are going to spend all your time at the casino and pray your things are still there when you return. Our credit card was skimmed from the gas station right outside the RV park, as well. And obviously crime is an issue because there was security at each door of the gas station. We left and found a better park. They have only two pictures on their website, that should have clued me in! And I was so quick to leave that I forgot to take any pictures myself.

    Devils Creek RV Park

    Close quarters but friendly faces

This is an older campground, and space near reservoirs is a hot commodity. The RV park host was very friendly and accommodating. Very clean campground with a nice boat dock and plenty of spaces to get down near the reservoir and fish.

Warning - Some of the spaces felt like extremely close quarters especially with slide outs. The picture below shows one of the older full utility locations. Some units may not have much room to slide out without contacting the utility boxes. Some units offer great shade and an awning next to a shared fire pit, shared picnic table. Some units have a really nice shared grass area between trailers. Also several people here are seasonal campers with monthly rates. This can make finding a space a little more challenging. Call ahead and make sure to get reservations so you can get a spot.

Lot size seems inconsistent between spaces as some feel very cramped and some of the high number units without utilities had larger spaces between them, almost appearing as an extra space between two units people were using for pet/kid play areas.

Dogs are to be kept on leashes, but people should consider short leashes/tie lines as it is easy for pets to cross into adjacent units depending upon where they are staked. Make sure to plan ahead for power adapters. Only one 30amp service so if your planning to run AC, plan to be the first in or coordinate with your neighbor.

    What a Find

We were in the Lava Hot Springs, ID area and when traveling US-30, we saw a sign for Caribou Highlands Golf & RV. We had to check out a golf course with an RV park. When you turn off US-30 at the sign, it will be a hard-packed dirt road and you go straight until you see golf course signage and follow them to the course. You will first come to the campground (CG) area where the 10 pull-through sites with FHUs (30/20 AMP). Check-in is at the clubhouse which is about 100 yards from CG. The pull-throughs are long enough for big rigs. A few of the sites have large trees so you will want to watch your sides and roof. There's a bathhouse building. There are no picnic tables at the sites. The cost per night when we were there was $42. During the week its pretty wide open but they do fill up on the weekends. Reservations are made on Campspot. The golf course is a 9-hole links style. They also have a driving range.

Came through at sundown looking for a place to camp with the RTT. Short drive to the Hot Springs. $48 for a tent spot. Full hookups. Tables and fire ring. On the river. Easy spot, but the trains are all night long and there is a crossing just over the highway from the resort…. So they honk for a 1/2 mile as they approach.

    Family Friendly and great environment!

Great staff, very welcoming and helpful. Loved the full hookups. Loved the environment with seeing all the kids playing around and having fun. Just a few short minutes from downtown. Only complaint is all the cotton falling over everywhere from the cottonwood trees. I know they can’t help that but just thought I’d share. Also sites are kind of on top of each other but we had such friendly neighbors that we didn’t mind at all. Very family friendly would definitely come back!

    Great time “on the green”!

We arrived the Wednesday after Labor Day. We were given a full hookup spot in a giant field area all to ourselves! Our spot backed up to a small running creek filled with fish. The field had corn hole and horse shoe games set up. We enjoyed the hot spring fed pool. Again, we were the only ones there. The pool is huge! We also enjoyed a great burger cooked at the grill in the office. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice spot with RV and Motel Rooms

This place has easy access for when you're rolling into the town late at night and without a reservation.  The RV spots are a little easier to get so if you want a motel room during the summer be sure to reserve ahead of time.  There are over a dozen RV sites and 8 fairly newly renovated fully furnished motel rooms.

The rooms are fairly cheap but give them a call as the owners have recently changed within the last month.  Nearby there are more hot springs than you could visit in a day!  Portneuf Canyon and River to the north holds great trout fishing if you're looking for something else to do!

    Mary’s Campground

    Was a bit disappointed

Mary’s gets some stars for being green and shaded with bathrooms/showers, and full hookups. It also has a lovely suspension bridge to town. A pretty easy walk to the hot pools with little kids. It’s also along the river and train tracks. All of which I thought was delightful to see and hear. The camp host was also very helpful with parking. But Mary’s loses stars for how close the sites are to each other. There is zero privacy; you’re on-top if each other. Being so close wouldn’t be so bad, but it’s definitely a party camp site. If you want to be kept awake at all hours of the night by loud and drunk party people of all ages that have zero respect for noise discipline...then this is the place. If you’re a young family or retired couple looking for a peaceful retreat. This is not the place for you.

    Great spot for a KOA!

One of the vest locations for a KOA in terms of tourist stuff to do.  The downtown of Lava spring is a walk away and so is the large enclosed hot sprngs and pool.  There is also an outdoor pool at the KOA and a small convenience store.  A local mexican food truck is also parked right in the campground!

    Easy getaway

Easy getaway as we're from Pocatello. It was hot, but we had a great time. The camp hosts were very helpful and super friendly. Bathrooms and showers were close and clean. Lots to do with the visitor center, hiking trails, the Snake River, and historical sites like Register Rock and Oregon Trail sites. We had a camp trailer. Water and electrical hookups were great and the dump station is fairly close. We'd come back again when it's not so hot.
