Morgan Creek
Morgan Creek is located near Challis, Idaho, surrounded by rugged terrain with a mix of forested areas and open spaces. The area experiences temperatures ranging from lows in the 20s Fahrenheit during winter to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby attractions include the Salmon River for fishing and rafting, as well as the Land of the Yankee Fork State Park, which offers historical sites and trails.

This small campground is reached by taking Highway 93 five miles north of Challis to Morgan creek, then driving four miles up the canyon to the recreation site. The campground is located at the foot of a valley just before the canyon and is bordered by Morgan Creek. It is also located near a Bighorn Sheep Management Area. The diverse terrain here makes it excellent songbird habitat. Sparrows, thrashers, and wrens flit in the sagebrush, and juncos, kinglets, and nutcrackers shelter in the forest. Big game in the area includes bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope and mule deer. Continue on Morgan Creek road to reach the trailhead which accesses the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Amenities include: 4 campsites w/picnic tables & fire rings; 1 vault toilet; Potable water (hand pump)
