Mosquito Flat Reservoir

Accessible via forest roads that can become slick in wet conditions, Mosquito Flat Reservoir provides dispersed camping within Challis National Forest from May through September. The US Forest Service manages this drive-in and walk-in site near the reservoir, offering vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. No potable water is available on-site.

Campers can access both forested areas and lakeside spots, with pets welcome throughout the dispersed camping area. The location works well for anglers and those seeking a base for exploring campgrounds near Challis or nearby established campgrounds like Mill Creek.
