Mill Creek sits in the mountains above Challis, offering nine first-come, first-serve sites arranged in a lollipop loop within the forested terrain. About half the sites back directly to the creek, while others face the surrounding trees. The campground provides drinking water through a working pump near site 3, along with two clean vault toilets stocked with supplies.
Sites 2 and 3 receive the most shade and closest creek access, making them popular choices. Road crews occasionally grade the Adventure Road on this side of the pass, creating temporary dust clouds that dissipate quickly. The area remains relatively quiet except for wind through the pines, bird calls, and infrequent traffic. A day-use group picnic site adds to the facilities, and the historic Greenwood Station foundation lies less than a mile down the road.
