Accessible via Highway 26, Alpine North Loop Campground provides a single-loop layout with spacious sites that accommodate RVs up to 60 feet. The Forest Service facility charges $20-$100 per night and accepts reservations, though no pets are permitted. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with firewood available for purchase from the camp host.
The campground sits near Palisades Reservoir, giving several sites water views. Campers report the location works well as a base for visiting nearby national parks without dealing with crowded in-park camping. Clean pit toilets and potable water serve the loop, though no showers or hookups are available. "Campgrounds are good sizes and accommodates Travel trailers and fifth wheels," notes Trinda B..
Road noise from Highway 26 reaches some sites, and bug activity can be heavy during summer months. AT&T cell coverage proves spotty for data, though voice calls generally work. The town of Alpine sits two miles away for supplies and services. Wildlife sightings typically include squirrels and various bird species.
The friendly camp host provides local knowledge and can direct campers to nearby amenities like the RV dump station at Palisades Dam. For additional options, see camping near Alpine across the state line in Wyoming.
