Blowout Campground

This US Forest Service campground sits directly off Highway 26 in Caribou National Forest, with the boat launch road running through the camping area. Sites are positioned among trees but remain close to the main road, where truck traffic creates engine braking noise throughout the night. The older facility provides drinking water, restrooms, and trash service from May through September.

Fishing draws most visitors to the adjacent lake, though the campground's layout prioritizes boat access over quiet camping. Sites on the western edge offer sunset views over the water. Note that pets are not permitted. Late-season visitors may find no fees collected, though standard amenities remain available through the official season.

A small lakeside campground popular with fishing enthusiasts, offering excellent sunset views from western cliff sites. However, visitors should expect considerable road noise from nearby Route 26 truck traffic.

Fishing anyone

Blowout Campground seems to be the place for fisher people. The road to the boat launch goes right through the campground , not great. Unless that’s what your there for. Small campground right off the road, so you can hear the traffic noise. Older campground with sites in the trees. Excellent views and the lake looked awesome.

Nice view, close to highway

Rt 26 seems to be a big trucking route, could hear engine braking all night. Sites seemed close together as well. On the bright side, sites on the west cliff get a wicked nice sunset! Was the only one there aside from a few boaters at the launch, and no fee late October!
