    One with Nature Glamp Camp

    Awesome Getaway in the City

This is a cute eclectic glamping ground that has a lot of character. There are 2 bell tents in the area. One setup with a king bed and the other a twin bed. The amenities are mind blowing…….top tier linens, mobile power units, lighting, movie projector, movie speaker and yes a wood burning stove in your tent. There is an outdoor shower, port-a-potties and sanitary wipes to handle business. Their indoor bathroom facility is under construction. This place is awesome! Get in before the prices go up☝️

Hard Labor Creek State Park Campground

    Stunning Cabin!

Nicest state park cabin I’ve never stayed in! The furnishings were beautiful and the screened porch was amazing. I really appreciated that the bedding and towels were plush and extremely comfortable-very unlike most state parks or other rental cabins. It was also impeccably clean, AND the bathrooms had handcrafted local soaps!

As a side note, my husband is a wheelchair user and this was the most accessible vacation rental we’ve ever encountered (and we travel a lot). The picnic table had a seat cutout, the fire pit and grill were on a level surface, and the kitchen sink was roll under! 10/10 thank you HLC for the thoughtful attention to accessibility.

    Stone Mountain Park Campground

    Extraordinary Attractions

Stone Mountain hardly needs another glowing review, but it is a pleasure to stay there. First, everything is contained and available. The views of the lake, and, yes, the mountain are gorgeous. There is a nice spacious check-in store. Your trash is picked up constantly from your site. Each site has a deck, a grill with a propane tank already attached, a picnic table, and a fire pit, electric and sewer hook ups. The sites are close together, but the decks are pretty private. If you bike, hike, run or like trails, boating and fishing, all are right there. It helps to have a car/truck, as the place is pretty immense, but my neighbors had a Class C and were throughly enjoying mountain biking to everything. Another neighbor with a gorgeous Class A was driving his towed truck to a neighboring Petco. There is everything. Deer roam in the morning and at night, and if golf is your sport of choice, Stone Mountain has a highly rated public course. The staff is very friendly. I liked the purple area near the playground and pool. The sites seemed a little more private. It’s not cheap, and I don’t know what discounts might be available. But, if you’re in or around Atlanta, this is the place to go. It will NOT disappoint.

    Chattahoochee Bend State Park Campground

Cabins are definitely the highlight here!

The primitive sites (for tents) were a bit close and not as private as I like.

They offer platform camping and those sites seem a bit more secluded (and are in a separate area from the tent sites).

There are 4 cabins available to reserve and they have great amenities (running water, electricity)

We looked at them once there and think next time we will do this with the kids.

2 rangers live in the park full time and there is a large welcome center/ gift shop with basics for sale should you forget anything.

    Clark Creek South Campground

    Great view of the Lake

The campsite was right next to the swimming beach so little to no privacy and very loud. Although I slept very well in my tent because Quiet hours were observed. It was nice waking up to view of Lake Allatoona. Lady at the gate was rude when checking in so make sure to “READ the sign!” Other than that bathrooms were clean and they have laundry and hot water showers. Will most likely be back!

    Shady Grove Campground

Shady Grove Campground on Lake Lanier

We met some friends here in the late afternoon Sunday of July 4th weekend. They already had a site (#51) which was nice with a beautiful view over the lake. The site had a nice big area with fire pit, picnic table, grill and room for a big tent. It also had a paved area down below where you can set up chairs with a great view of the water. The bath house was just a walk away. It did not have a great beach area, you have to climb or jump down the embankment but it is doable, just be mindful of young ones and pets. There is a main beach area in the campgrounds down the street but we wanted privacy for our group. The water is rocky so be careful. Once in the water we had a blast, great view of the islands in the water, boaters and jet skiers going by and nobody else on our beach. The bathrooms and showers were not great but there if you need them. They definitely don't want alcohol in the park. My friends said someone came by and told them to make sure they don't have alcohol earlier that day but I never saw one park ranger the whole time we were there. The other sites were kind of close but we got lucky and they all left earlier in the day. The sunrise was beautiful over the lake, we got to see some fireworks over across the lake at lanier world.

    Bald Ridge Creek

    Very nice overall

Nice view of lake when site across the lane isn't occupied. Restrooms/ showers cleaned and relatively maintained (1 shower curtain missing) , debris free paved lanes to all sites. Spot 80 had good afternoon shade. Trees block heavy winds from north and west. Fire pit may fill 1/2 way from heavy rain/ ground water.

    Shady Grove Campground

    Nice clean campgrounds

Nice quiet camp grounds. Each camping spot has a decent amount of room including a fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Spots are slightly uneven. There is easy access to the boat ramp and lake beach. The bathrooms are clean.

    Fort Yargo State Park Campground

    Walk in tent site 44

Nice large gravel site. Water access but no swimming allowed at campground. Parking lot is a short walk to campsite. Bathhouse is at the parking area. Picnic table and fire pit at site.

Wooded area but not secluded, limited shade on table. Will need a canopy for daytime table use. Neighbors lights will definitely be seen.

Nice site but probably won’t stay at this site again.
