North of the Withlacoochee State Forest boundary, Richloam Tract Primitive Camp Zone South sits in forested terrain 2.3 miles east of Lacoochee. This established campground provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections for RVs accessing via standard drive-in roads. Campers can reserve sites in advance and bring pets along.
The forested setting offers direct access to hiking and biking trails that wind through the tract. Fishing opportunities are available within the area. Description
The Richloam Tract Primitive Camp Zone South is located within the Richloam Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest (Sumter County), about 20 miles east of Brooksville, FL. This campground is a hike in and hike out site only. There is no water and there are no amenities, although some areas may have a fire ring and/or picnic table. The camp zone is delineated by yellow colored bands on the trees and is approximately four miles from the parking area. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, star gazing, wildflower viewing and nature study.
Horseback Riding - On forest roads only. No designated trails.

No potable water, no restrooms, it is suggested trail users wear bright colored clothing during hunting season.

Directions
From Interstate 75 north to Exit 301, bear right onto the exit ramp, turn right (east) on SR-50/US Hwy 98 S and continue to go east on SR-50. You will cross US-301 continuing east on SR-50 and then turn right (south) onto Clay Sink Road and go approximately 1 mile to the trailhead parking area at the Richloam Fire Tower located on the westside of Clay Sink Road. You will be east of CR-575 and west of SR-471.
