This Naval base rec site is probably our favorite so far. Being On a military base the beach is secluded and semi private. We were there over Memorial Day weekend, and the beach was not crowded. The rv sites are right by the water with beach access being a short walk. I would highly recommend this campground and we will certainly be going back. This is a popular one, so it is hard to find a spot.
This Army rec site is clean and quiet. If you are looking for a peaceful area to camp this is a great place. If you are looking for somewhere close to a popular destination, you may be disappointed.
Clean restrooms, well maintained rv area with cabins. The camp host was friendly and personable. They have a new area with hookups right on the lake. Apparently winter is the busy time of year, so book those dates early. Summer is not as booked, but the office hours are terrible, so even if you can’t get ahold of anyone don’t be afraid to show up during the summer and talk to the camp host. There is probably something available. Sadly a tornado just went through, and destroyed many of the rv’s. It may be a little while before everything gets put back together.
If you have kids be sure to check out the indoor play area (KRAB) and the pool!
Seminole state park was a great place to go enjoy nature. The campground was right on the lake and many had great views. The low review is due to lack of things to do. There were not too many hiking trails, and really nothing to exciting about it resides a lake.
