This is a gem! Campsites are close to the River with stunning views all around. The stars were amazing with zero ambient light.

Only stayed one night and it poured rain as we had to sleep in the truck as water pooled up in our site . Either way was a nice campground.
It This camp is 2 miles south of Salida, Co. Good place to reprovision. Most sites have shade. The River and D level sites are on the river. Staff was friendly and helpful. Some of the camp facilities are affected by Covid restrictions. Sites are very close together. Beautiful location but…
This campground was very quiet, well run and organized. Great place to enjoy the outdoors.
Overall nice the vaulted toilets need cleaning, a lot of traffic from rafters, but once the sunset it’s very pleasant
Sand sites with good room, awesome play ground and amazing views
A little rough. Not a resort. Friendly owner. If you like all kinds of people and a variety of different types of camping you will enjoy it. The road in is unpaved take it slow. I liked the place.
My family stayed here last summer and we’re not disappointed. The lack of shade (upper spaces) and not a lot of choices for big-rigs are the only downsides here. Here are the positives:
- Great access to the Arkansas River (fishing, put-in/ - take/out access)
- Very well-maintained spaces and…
If you don’t mind heavy boating traffic (shuttles & busses, etc.) and limited shade, this campground has some great upsides including:
- Large drive-through spaces for RV’s (with tent pads)
- Immediate access to the Arkansas river
- Cool railroad bridge to explore (not fenced so please be…
This campground would be perfect for those who desire to experience what it would be like to camp on the surface of the sun or for those who don’t mind heavy highway traffic, speeding rafting shuttles feet from you and your loved ones, and/or taking in the amazing views of scorched earth. In the…
Nice and cozy
First of all, all vehicles have to have a daily pass (in addition to the camp site reservation) which is $9 cash. We had site 1322, which was the furthest away from others and furthest away from the high amount of cars at the river. We would stay again but only at site 1322. The others are way too…

Great campground pulling right off of rte 82 but with little to no road noise or visual. Best sites are along creek (3,4,6,7) with others ranging from 2.5 to 4 stars. Sites have table and fire pit and adult trees on soft dirt and flowers. Most of the 9 or 10 sites are large... The largest, listed…
Great campground on the shores of Turquoise Lake. Lots of clean toilets. Sites are well placed with space between them. Some are tight for a trailer. The bugs were not bad. The lake is beautiful and lots of things to do. Definitely will come back. The campground hosts were the best!
Although this is a free campsite, on a first come first serve basis, be prepared to show your fishing license. All state parks require some type of fee to utilize the parks. Good idea, and we were fortunate to have ours, but be forewarned.
