San Isabel National Forest's dispersed camping in the Bartlett Creek Gulch area sits northwest of Granite and carries no fee. Access is the defining factor here. The road becomes significantly more difficult after rain, and at least one camper with AWD found it impassable on a wet day; 4WD with high clearance is the safer bet. Pets are allowed. Four Eyes Dispersed Campsite sits just 0.4 miles southeast for campers who want a nearby alternative.
