Canyon rim access draws visitors to Mineral Bottom Trail Campground, a free BLM site roughly 13 miles in from Island in the Sky Road. The road to camp passes numerous sites along the way, and deep sand along the roadside has caused vehicles to get stuck, so high-clearance rigs are worth considering. The overlook area includes a pit toilet. Campfires and pets are permitted. Mineral Bottom Road Dispersed (BLM) sits nearby for campers who want a different configuration along the same corridor.
Description
This is a dispersed/primitive area. Please remember to Leave No Trace. Thank you.
