OHV enthusiasts will find designated staging areas and direct trail access at this Bureau of Land Management campground north of Montrose. The facility features approximately 10-15 pull-through sites arranged side-by-side on relatively level terrain, though the ground isn't completely flat. Vault toilets stay reasonably clean according to recent visitors.
Cell phone service works well at this location. The campground sees regular use from locals for off-highway vehicle activities and dog walking, with some nighttime activity reported. Sites can accommodate larger RVs, and alcohol is permitted on-site. No pet policy is enforced, and reservations are available through the standard BLM system. For those preferring full hookups, KOA Montrose RV Resort provides a different camping experience just south of town.
