Middle Quartz is located near Nathrop, Colorado, surrounded by mountainous terrain. The area experiences temperatures ranging from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit in winter to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby attractions include the Arkansas River for fishing and rafting, and the San Isabel National Forest for hiking and exploring.
Description
National Forest
The area is part of the mineral belt that extends into Leadville. Many of the 4-wheel drive roads were created by miners over 100 years ago which are now popular for four-wheel driving in the Summer and Fall months. The campground is near the alpine Tunnel historic site.
