Middle Quartz is located near Nathrop, Colorado, surrounded by mountainous terrain. The area experiences temperatures ranging from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit in winter to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby attractions include the Arkansas River for fishing and rafting, and the San Isabel National Forest for hiking and exploring.

The area is part of the mineral belt that extends into Leadville. Many of the 4-wheel drive roads were created by miners over 100 years ago which are now popular for four-wheel driving in the Summer and Fall months. The campground is near the alpine Tunnel historic site.

Vast wilderness beautiful sites

This is the 3rd time we have camped here and have loved every minute of it . Not of large site but if you don’t mind a few tree branches the a site can be found . Lots of trails from hiking to SxS and all in between.
