Boaters and anglers find direct access to Twin Lakes Reservoir at this Forest Service campground on the northeastern shore. The site functions primarily as a large parking area that accommodates any size RV, with vault toilets shared between campers and day-use boaters. A boat ramp operates seasonally with aquatic invasive species inspections when open.
Tent campers can set up with views across the water toward Mount Elbert, while RV users park in what reviewers describe as a gravel lot arrangement. The campground sits close to the Colorado Trail for hikers seeking additional recreation. Amber G. notes the site has "amazing tent sights" despite the parking lot setup for larger rigs. Cell service through Verizon works reliably according to multiple reports.
The location operates on a pack-in, pack-out basis with no water, electricity, or trash service beyond the vault toilets. Day-use fees apply separately from overnight camping rates, which can reach $26 per night during peak season. Dispersed camping options exist across the road for those preferring a more primitive experience.
Campers wanting additional amenities can explore places to camp around Granite or check nearby Sunnyside Fishing Site for a different lakeside setup.
