A rutted dirt road off CO-91 leads into this free BLM dispersed area near Climax, where sites are basic and facilities are nonexistent. No restrooms, no hookups, no trash service. Campers pack everything in and out. Expect some highway noise given how close the road sits. Sites have fire pits, cell service is available, and dogs have open space to roam. RVs are limited to 20 feet, and the access road gets deeply rutted in wet conditions, which can be a problem in spring. Leadville is roughly 10 minutes away for resupply. A practical overnight stop for self-sufficient campers who need a no-cost base near East Fork Arkansas River BLM Dispersed.
