Cliff high exposure

No water sources within walking distance. The lake is aways away. It's a pull off on the dirt road that's big enough to fit a small camper on the side of a cliff with high exposure. No cover for thunderstorms.

Beautiful views and easy drive

I stayed here on June 16 2023. I some with one of the locals there and he said they just opened the gates that morning. This spot is pretty open with room for a small rv or tent camping. It's a short drive up to Poage Lake at the top of the mountain and also a short drive to Beaver Creek Reservoir down the mountain. The road is a well kept dirt road. There was a family that drove their minivan all the way up to Poage lake. We got a little weather while there, mixture of rain and light snow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities or facilities are available at Beaver Creek dispersed camping?

Beaver Creek Site 4 is a primitive dispersed camping location with minimal amenities. There are no developed facilities such as bathrooms, potable water sources, or hookups. The site is essentially a cleared area large enough to accommodate a small RV or tent setup. There are no water sources within walking distance, with both the lake and reservoir requiring a drive to access. The camping area provides little natural cover or shelter from elements like thunderstorms, and its cliff-side position means high exposure to weather conditions.

Are there any permits or regulations for camping at Beaver Creek?

Beaver Creek Site 4 operates as a dispersed camping area with seasonal access restrictions. The site is gated and typically opens around mid-June, with exact opening dates varying year to year based on conditions. While specific permit requirements aren't detailed, standard dispersed camping regulations likely apply, including pack-in/pack-out policies for trash, fire restrictions during dry periods, and length-of-stay limitations. Given the site's small size, there are natural limitations on group size and vehicle numbers. For current regulations, it's advisable to check with the managing agency (likely Forest Service or BLM) before your trip.

Where is Beaver Creek dispersed camping located and how do I get there?

Beaver Creek Site 4 is located in a mountainous area that provides access to both Poage Lake and Beaver Creek Reservoir. It's situated on a dirt road, with the site being a pull-off area on the side of a cliff with high exposure. To get there, follow the main access road until you reach the gated entrance. The area typically opens in mid-June when the gates are unlocked, depending on seasonal conditions. From the campsite, it's a short drive to reach either Poage Lake at the top of the mountain or Beaver Creek Reservoir.
