Within Uncompahgre National Forest, Aspen Leaf operates as a US Forest Service campground that requires advance reservations and prohibits pets. The site sits in forested terrain near both a creek and lake, providing access to fishing opportunities. Campers should prepare for rough road conditions when accessing the drive-in sites.

Each site includes a picnic table, and campfires are permitted throughout the $60-per-night facility. The creek and lake proximity makes this location particularly relevant for anglers, though the challenging access road means high-clearance vehicles work best for reaching the campground.
