Quaint Campground in Small Town

I've stayed in both the hotel and RV park at this campground and had good experiences both times. The campsites are close together, but we were placed at a site with no neighbors when we camped there May 5-7. It probably would have been a much different experience if the campground was totally full, but we had a good time.

There are no fires allowed on the individual sites, but there are a few community fire pits available. Every site has a picnic table, electric and water hookups, and septic. Supposedly there is also cable hookup but we didn't utilize that. Back in and pull through sites (some covered by solar panels so shaded!) are available. Bathrooms were clean, free showers available.

We had access to a pool and hot tub which was great for daytime & nighttime relaxing. There are two pool areas, "one for the hotel and one for the RV Park" but you can go to either. There were no towels available in the RV park pool so you'll want to bring your own (not sure about the other pool/in the hotel rooms).

There's a restaurant/bar on site, but it's closed from May to I believe September or October. There's also a small store with some essentials. The campground is located in the small town of Borrego Springs so there are shops, a grocery store, and a couple other restaurants nearby. Christmas Circle is a small park at the center of town that's a great hangout/picnic spot.

Borrego Springs is completely surrounded by Anza Borrego Desert State Park where there's tons of options for hiking, off roading, other camping, and general exploring. I wouldn't recommend planning your trip mid-May to mid-September as temperatures are dangerously high. It's quite lovely in the winter!

Very quiet, clean, easy access

This is a pretty nice campground in an area that is very niche. It’s a very quiet town known for being dark. Campground has all the normal amenities and is easy to navigate, the spots are pretty close to each other so don’t expect privacy. If you want privacy just drive 15 minutes into the desert and set up camp.

Family Friendly Borrego Springs full with hookups

A nice little (120 spaces or so) full hookup (30 and 50 amp) campground.  We paid $289 for 5 nights. Clean, well maintained and full of families.  Very close to downtown and Anza-Borrego Visitor Center.  Spaces are good size, no problems fitting our 30' toy hauler towed by F250, and the park is well laid out and easy to drive. Checkin was fast and easy.  There are full time residents, but they are in a different section.  We used it as a base for hiking and off-roading at Octotillo Wells (both recommended, but bring as much water as you  can carry). The property has an old west theme, and there is also a hotel , laundromat and restaurant. If you have never visited this part of California, be advised that the wind here can be VERY intense, especially at night.  Also note that Borrego Springs is a dark sky community, so please be respectful and remember to look up and enjoy the stars.

Vintage

Just traveling through and thought I would stop and check this place out as it looked really neat. It has hotel rooms and RV rentals and lots of spaces to bring your own RV with full hookups with 50 amps. Prices very from as little as $50 to close to $200 a night It varues based on whether you want pull in, back in, etc etc. too many variations and options That's why I only gave it four stars even though it looked like a really cool place it can be confusing trying to figure out what you actually want when you're here. It might be nicer after Covid, but right now things are pretty dead and this is peak season. It has on-site restaurants and saloon two large heated swimming pools, temporary closed, business rooms, jacuzzi, laundry facilities, gift shop and market and restaurant, currently with only outdoor dining.
