Quaint Campground in Small Town

I've stayed in both the hotel and RV park at this campground and had good experiences both times. The campsites are close together, but we were placed at a site with no neighbors when we camped there May 5-7. It probably would have been a much different experience if the campground was totally full, but we had a good time.

There are no fires allowed on the individual sites, but there are a few community fire pits available. Every site has a picnic table, electric and water hookups, and septic. Supposedly there is also cable hookup but we didn't utilize that. Back in and pull through sites (some covered by solar panels so shaded!) are available. Bathrooms were clean, free showers available.

We had access to a pool and hot tub which was great for daytime & nighttime relaxing. There are two pool areas, "one for the hotel and one for the RV Park" but you can go to either. There were no towels available in the RV park pool so you'll want to bring your own (not sure about the other pool/in the hotel rooms).

There's a restaurant/bar on site, but it's closed from May to I believe September or October. There's also a small store with some essentials. The campground is located in the small town of Borrego Springs so there are shops, a grocery store, and a couple other restaurants nearby. Christmas Circle is a small park at the center of town that's a great hangout/picnic spot.

Borrego Springs is completely surrounded by Anza Borrego Desert State Park where there's tons of options for hiking, off roading, other camping, and general exploring. I wouldn't recommend planning your trip mid-May to mid-September as temperatures are dangerously high. It's quite lovely in the winter!
