The RV Park sits on the bank of the Williamson River, renowned for its trout fly-fishing. Our park is an older park, but we are continually making upgrades and enhancements, including our remodeled restrooms, laundry room and 50-amp electric. We have 32 RV Spaces and are open 7 days a week, 9 months of a year. We are closed December thru February.

There are 6, 60' pull-thru sites on our Riverfront row, with beautiful views of the Williamson River. These have 20/30/50 amp electric and water - NO sewer. Also on the river are 4, back-in sites with 30-amp electric and water - no sewer.

Our middle row has 9, full hook-up pull-thru sites, ranging in length of 40' to 70'.

Our back row has 7 pull-thru sites, and 4 back-in sites, all with 20/30/50 amp electric and water - no sewer.

The west side of the property has 2 back-in sites, with 30-amp electric and water - no sewer.

There are NO tent sites, and car-camping/sleeping is not allowed.

Waterwheel RV Park is open 7 days a week and closed from December through February for the winter.

    Ashland, Oregon

Located just minutes from the cheerful town of Ashland, the year-round campground at Point RV Park offers 32 full-hookup sites on the north end of Emigrant Lake. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, and have access to flush restrooms and showers. Parking pads can accommodate vehicles/trailers up to 50 feet. A group camp is available for larger parties; many sites and facilities are ADA accessible. The campground also features a beach, picnic area, playground, horseshoe pits, and a boat ramp. Tent camping is not available at this location, but permitted at the nearby Oak Slope Campground. Sites are available first-come, first-served, but reservations are recommended during the busy summer season; rates are $30/night. Activities at Emigrant Lake include sunbathing, swimming, paddling, boating and fishing. There is also a water park at the lake with dual 280-foot slides. Common catches in the lake include trout, small- and largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish. (ODFW has issued a health advisory about high levels of Mercury in all fish except trout in Emigrant Lake.) Nearby, Ashland is the home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. This annual event holds a variety of plays and performances that run from spring through fall. While in town, spend some time checking out Ashland’s collection of shops, galleries, spas, and eateries. If visiting in summer, take a hike on the acclaimed Pacific Crest Trail or climb up to a volcanic prominence called Pilot Rock. If visiting in winter there’s skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Ashland.

    Waterwheel RV Park & Campground

Nice RV Park to Explore the Area

Easy check in in this quaint little RV park right off OR 97 on the Williamson River. We were directed to our pull through site 26 with water and electric but only 30 AMP. We had to disconnect and park in the little field across from or trailer, which was not a big deal. Our site had 30 AMP but there were 50 AMP spots in the middle and on the river rows. All three rows with RV hook ups had sites close together as we had to adjust our rig to clear trees so we could get our slides out. There were plenty of areas to include a small playground and large grass area to walk the dogs. Verizon cell, cable, and the WIFI all worked well. Water Wheel was a well kept campground with 32 RV sites plus a private island connected by a small walking bridge across the river for tent campers. If we were tent campers this would definitely be a great place to camp. We enjoyed exploring the area.  We would stay here again, but would definitely book in advance to get a river row site with 50 AMPs.

    Collier Memorial State Park Campground

Nice State Park 30 Miles from Crater Lake

Collier State Park is a typically nice Oregon State park, with the benefit that there's often spaces open only a few days out that you can book online and just 30 miles from Crater Lake. There's enough to keep kids busy for a day or so, including the free logging museum across the road. Clean bathrooms and showers and tons of rangers/employees getting sites ready, picking up litter etc. Prices were great, just $19 for tent sites and $29 for a full RV hook-up, including a few pull-through spots, plus flush toilets and showers. On our recent road trip in a 32-foot RV, this was probably the best deal of anywhere we went. For a state park, though, spots were right on top of each other, with very little in terms of privacy.

    Pros:

    • Nice, well maintained facilities
    • Good deal, especially for RVs with hook-ups.

    Cons:

    • Spots felt very crowded and on top of each other.
    • Horrible mosquitoes kept us inside the RV in the evening.

    Williamson River Campground

A Tale of Two Campsites: Cheaper Forest Campground Near Crater Lake

Just off Highway 97, about 30 miles from the entrance to Crater Lake National Park, you'll come to a wooden sign pointing to two campgrounds. To the right is Collier Memorial State Park, and if you want flush toilets, showers and/or RV hook-ups, that's where you should head. But if you want to pay just $10 and travel 1.5 miles on a gravel road for much larger sites with less facilities, turn left to Williamson River Campground for a great deal.

On Forest Service land, Williamson River has 20 spots well-spaced-out, including at least two pull-throughs. There's a camp host right in the front, a self-service kiosk, and we were able to pull up and grab a spot with no notice in July for a 32-foot RV. There's several water spickets throughout, two pit-toilets that weren't too gross, a day-use area, a short trail down the the Williamson River and a 1.3-mile trail that hooks up with Collier Campground. I'm not sure if there's a per-person or car limit per site, but several of the spaces had 2-3 trailers and several families, so could be a really great deal at $10 plus $4 per extra vehicle for what's essentially a "group" site.

    Pros:

    • Beautiful country
    • Large spaces
    • Just $10

    Cons:

    • Mosquitoes!!!! They were everywhere, especially at dusk.
    • No flush toilets or showers.

    Tips:

    • If you need an RV dump site, head over to Collier, where there's a dump site and water hook-up for free/donation.
    • The logging museum back on highway 97 is worth a visit.

    Waiiaka RV Park

Nice & Clean RV Park, Tight Spaces

I stayed at this park with my daughter and dog for one night while passing through.

The facilities are very clean, showers have nice hot water for a minimal fee.

The dog park is small, but well maintained with poop bags on site for your use.

The RV Park workers were fantastic, checked on us during set up to make sure we had what we needed.

There are obviously quite a few long term renters at the park, but they showed pride in there homes and area. Everyone’s areas were clean and orderly, and the park was incredibly quiet.

Only down side is the sites are tightly packed together. My door was only a couple off feet off of my neighbors hook ups. When the camper next to us packed up in the morning, we were outside by our door. The smell of sewage was pretty strong, we just went in our camper and waited for him to finish up.

Worth a stop for the money if your going to be in the area.

Great RVPark, offering camping, propane, gasoline at an affordable price, full hook-ups, store, level sites. We were escorted to our site and was asked if it worked for us and if we needed anything else, within a few minutes we also received a text asking us the same, very professional. The restrooms were a 10 with great showers and shower to die for. We highly recommend this park

    Nice Pools, Skip the camping

The pools are nice to soak and the general vibe is good. The campground is old and worn down which I don't mind much, but it is junky feeling. There are many long term residents with lots of junk in their spaces. Some are decked out with a creative spirit other are just garbage. The playground has lots of old degrading riding toys and tent camping is basically a field. We had an RV site with partial hookups and it was barely maintained. We ended up leaving a day early.

Three stars for the pool on its own.

    Waterwheel RV Park & Campground

    A decent RV park

We are generally not fans of RV parks but there were not a lot of options on our route near Klamath Falls. There are 34 sites; sites 12-20 are full hookup; the others have water and electricity. Sites 1-11 have Williamson River front views. The full hookup sites are in the center and have no privacy between them (but people in these sites would typically have larger RVs and not need privacy as much). In my opinion, Site 11 is the best site as it is a corner site with the most privacy.

The restrooms/showers are immaculate and are accessed via a keypad. There is also a very nice laundry room, playground (a bit dated), boat ramp, small beach (tents can set up here) and fire pit, and a dump station. There is actually a waterwheel! Cell service is strong and there is free WiFi.

Note that this park is located on Highway 97 and you will hear road-noise, especially at night when everything else quiets down. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay and Tracy in the office was very nice and helpful (we needed an additional 30 amp tail to use the electric and she provided us one to borrow).

Emigrant Lake Recreation Area - Oak Slope Campground

    A delight!

Close to town but worlds away. We expected the campground to be full for the weekend so we arrived a day early and had our pick of sites. The RV park was nothing special but fairly new and close to the lake. The Oak Slope “tent” camp has no hookups but easily accommodated our small trailer. Beautifully nestled amid open oaks it was peaceful and full of birdsong. It could feel close and crowded if full but it was 3/4 empty this early summer weekend, and the friendly accommodating camp hosts said it never fills. The smaller RV camp no doubt does, and reservations are a must in summer. The lake was nearly full this year after a solid winter of rain and snow.

Facilities at Oak Slope are a bit tired, but major renovations are planned for 2024. Might be good to call the parks office to check.

Mountains, pool and not as hot

We were glad we made the extra drive to this campground at the base of Mt Shasta - temps were cooler than the valley we had just come thru in Northern California and the pool was refreshing. Kids love staying at KOA’s and it didn’t disappoint. We had a good pull thru full hook up site across from the pool. Nice staff and easy check in. Great stopover for a night.

    Awesome destination spot

RV spots are decent. Partial & full hookups. Some spots, the fire pit is right next to the neighboring trailer. There is a dump station. Boat launch. Restaurant. Good swimming beach for kids. Friendly staff. Good spot, I'd go here again.

Gateway to Klamath Falls or Crater Lake

Friendly staff. RV sites were tight. The way they are setup, after your neighbor and you are hooked up, all of the hoses and cables for the utilities come right up to your picnic table slab. That's your main view. We were in the row that had full hook ups as there are several without. From the staff we got a recommendation and directions to Wood Lake wetlands. We did a 20 mile ride there and it was spectacular.  The town of Chiloquin isn't much to see, but K Falls is about a 25 minute ride each way,

    Surprising attraction this year

This lake is empty now (2021) and it’s a nice surprise to cross the barren lake bottom to see many different terrains. Would be a nice discovery trip for kids finding lake bottom treasures. There are many active bugs here too, for the entomologist in you. It’s a well maintained and healthy forest with newly refurbished hook ups in the full hook up sites, and free showers. Primitive sites are also available. “Lakeside” sites would be my preferred, though we had many spots for hammocks in the shady forested sites, which is a plus. Some sewer hook ups are places oddly.

    Hi-Lo Motel & RV Park

    Simple place to park

Hi-Lo Motel has been in business since 1951. It consists of a Motel, Cafe, and a 16-space RV parking with 30 AMP, water, and sewer utilities. The RV area is behind the Motel just off the motel parking lot. Behind the RV parking is a grassy area with a babbling little creek. There are a few picnic tables scattered throughout the grassy area.

We were able to easily enter the Motel entrance and drive down the hill to the RV parking with our 35-foot motorhome towing our driving vehicle. See photos for details.

The Cafe primarily offers comfort food. We liked the dishes we tried.

Ellie's Expresso and Bakery across the street is worth visiting. They have fresh daily baked bread and pastries. I liked everything I tried.

Mt Shasta Brewing Company is also worth the visit if you are seeking an adult Microbrew.

Ashland's Creekside Campground & RV Park

Great price, good vibe, loud road, bad showers

Good points: I think this is the cheapest campground with amenities near Ashland, only $27.50/night for a tent site with a water pump. The place didn't feel sketchy at all- although there are clearly some long term residents, it feels well-run and family friendly. Wifi was surprisingly fast and reached all the way over to the tent sites, and there is a place near the bathrooms to wash dishes. All tent sites were shady with large blackberry bushes providing privacy on three sides.

The not-so-good: the tent sites have a road right behind them that's often busy and loud. The showers in the women's restroom have unbelievably poor water pressure, and the water temp fluctuated from boiling to freezing for no reason unless you twitched the dial just right. Also, there's no place to hang a hammock near the tent sites but that's just a quibble.

    Rocky Point Resort

    Nice location, great owners

I booked a pull through spot online, when I arrived the owner walked around with me recommending available spots with a better view. We stayed at a nice full hook up site with a great view of the lake. The owners checked in daily to make sure we were having fun and if we needed anything. I rented a boat and caught a 6 lb trout, fishing where the owner said was a likely spot. I booked again for this weekend!

    Iron Gate Reservoir (Camp Creek)

    Not Dog Safe

Camp site coordinates are incorrect. Search for Camp Creek Campground, there are also Juniper Point/Mirror Cove that have free sites. Coordinates took us into a “neighborhood”, onto a private road, and all over the place while we arrived past 10pm.

Using Google Maps we were able to find out that there were nearby campgrounds and the county website says they were free FCFS.

We stayed at Camp Creek Campground right next to the dock/launch. Camp site has a nice stone table, within minutes we were swarmed by mosquitoes and our dogs had multiple thorns in each of their paws. The table became their safe place. Waking up we discovered the water was full of blue green algae with no notices around. There’s also big piles of horse poop as the horses are allowed to roam the recreation area.

Site is okay if no dogs, port-a-potty was clean. You’re better off staying at Fish Hook/Blue Heron RV Park or closer to I-5 at another RV camp site than camping here where the water should not be accessed.

    Jackson Wellsprings

    Hippy Paradise

The camping area is a couple of “meadows” or grassy backyard and you pick a spot to place your tent. The camping fee includes 1 person in the “spring”. If there are 2 people they charge $25/tent and the 2nd person is an additional $15 and dogs are $5. A bit steep for camping in a meadow without a designated area. There were several picnic tables and I was lucky to get one. I don’t know that I’d feel comfortable camping here alone. The “spring” is a pool and a jacuzzi type set up. It’s ok but I prefer the hot springs that are a bit more natural. Also, after 6pm clothing is optional. The drinking water and shower water smell like sulfur which is a bit nauseating. The big plus is that Ashland is 2 miles down the road. There are quite a few long term people and it’s not very organized so it feels a bit dirty. My friend that I was with said he felt like he was sleeping in a junkyard.

    Trailer Lane Campground

    Not a good experience

Small RV park , ok for trailers.  Only one larger site, noisy from the freeway and on site owners who gave us a very poor customer experience. I am sure they are nice folks but we definitely caught them on a " we don't care just give us the $$$ day" .

    Amenities but gritty

We like to pick campgrounds that have extra amenities, like hot tubs or saunas. This one has both. The spa area is a nice add on to your stay. The facilities are old and therefore feel gritty. Which is the feeling that matches the campground. To get to the RV parking you have to drive/walk by the tent campers, which even off season, felt like those staying there permanently live in their tents and cars. Behind the RV parking is the area where full time residents live, which is also a bit rough. We didn’t feel unsafe, but we definitely didn’t feel like hanging out outside our RV or letting the kids play on the playground. If you go, don’t expect a resort. Think transient hippies and you’ll have your expectations aligned closer to reality.

    Blue Heron RV Park

    Immaculate!

Such a nice RV Park. Huge concrete pads for large RVs and pop-outs. There are clean and open bathrooms for people to use, if needed. River access for fishing or tubing as well. Hosts were great and super friendly. They also provide a shuttle for tubing upstream, and have some goods available for sale (ice, ice cream, frozen meat, eggs, etc).

    Trailer Lane Campground

    Pleasant secluded little park.

What a nice RV Park. The park was clean, until the bears got into the garbage, to bad we missed them. The site we chose was wonderful for our trailer. I hiked up the hill for the view and it was great, to bad we couldn't have gotten our trailer up there. We will be back and hope to meet the owners next time and maybe see the bear. Great wifi too.
