The sites occupy a burn area where recent forest fires have opened up the landscape considerably. Many trees display visible char marks, and forest service crews have removed numerous damaged trees, creating an unusually open feel for forest camping.

Multiple pull-off spots line the gravel road, giving campers flexibility in site selection. Cell service reaches the area reliably, with most carriers providing adequate coverage. Road noise from Highway 97 carries to the campsites, though most visitors find it manageable for overnight stays. "You can hear the highway from the sites," notes johny R., though the sound doesn't prevent restful sleep for most campers.

The washboard conditions worsen as the road extends deeper into the forest, so early sites typically offer the smoothest access. Fire rings mark established camping spots, and the area allows campfires when conditions permit. Several trails branch off from the main road for exploration on foot or bike. The location works well as a convenient overnight stop for travelers or a base camp for exploring camping near Chiloquin and surrounding forest areas.

Find the trails around the river

Burned National Forest - wide open. Plenty of spots to pull off a gravel road. Lots of trails to explore. ATT signal fluctuates between one and three bars, typically one.

Good over night spot

Right off hwy 97, drove just passed the last review location, road is very washboard so best to stay at first sight available. Hwy you can hear at night but wasn’t terrible. Great spot and easy to get to for quick overnighter

Nice spot

Good spot for a night or two. Some road noise. There was a forest fire here probably last year. A pretty spot. Boondocking. Several places to get parked off the forest rd.

Easy access

Easy access off highway. Road is gravel but very new and flat. Cell service is great. The Forrest here burned recently so it isnt as pretty as it once was. Alot of trees have been removed making it feel very open. Many trees are still black with char. You can hear the highway from the sites. There is also a campground down the gravel road so they kick up a little dust as they go past. But this is a great sleeper spot. By no means a destination but can be a launching pad.

Dispersed camping off NF-9370

There's signs on the main road to saying there is camping on this road on the side of it there is a couple of pull off with fire pits where you can camp. The road is in gear condition and any car should be able to drive on it. As far as I can tell it's free there is no signs saying otherwise, I saw no one the whole night and it has great signal.
