Lovely view of river

The park is a little more “stack and pack” than we like, but the view of the river made up for it. Nice park to spend the holidays.

Winter in Coloma

Beautiful campground along the American River in Coloma CA. The campground contains both on river and off river sites. You can literally backup to the rivers edge in the on river sites. On river is water and electric only. Full hookups off river. This is our 2nd December in a row staying…

Nice Famcamp

The sites are all in little culdesacs and are back ins. The culdesacs can be tight turns for large rigs, but the sites are nice. The base is large and we do lots of bike riding and walking here. The sunsets are usually beautiful!!

A nice pre-thanksgiving getaway

Beautiful fall surroundings right adjacent to the South Fork of the American River. Easy walk or car ride to numerous hiking trails. Looks like the perfect place to catch some white water rafting next summer. Restroom / Shower facilities finishes are a little dated but clean, well maintained and…

We loved our stay!

As full timers- we thought we hit the jackpot for the area in order to be near the towns we wanted to explore and also have service for good wifi. We had enough AT&T service for one person to work fine on the wifi. There are also plenty of coffeeshops about 5 mins away for stronger wifi.

Central location

Visit was April 2020. Had spot in rear of facility. Lots of room uneven grass surface but auto leveled no problem. Small pond for kids only fishing. Easy freeway access can get to town on surface streets. Overall was quiet clean safe. Would stay again.

Beautiful and remote

We stayed at this campground with another couple and enjoyed our time. The site was spacious and a short walk to the reservoir and trail. We hiked around the entire reservoir and it was gorgeous. It does feel like quite a good distance from the highways and also no stores that we found within a…

Camp directly on the lake

Great place to camp!!! They have a convenience store that is walkable distance to get supplies, food, candy from.

You should reserve a spot right on the lake. If you have a boat you can anchor it right in front.

Nice places to swim, fish, and jump off docs

Camping near it all

Great place to stay. You’re tucked away directly in nature but a 5 minute drive will get you to downtown Nevada city. “Downtown” is a small quaint historic area packed with great restaurants for vegans and organic lovers alike.

  • pass the train tracks is a large meadow to take a walk in. camping was 6/10 on the private scale.
  • nice pool to cool off in
  • cute train track runs on the outskirts of the sites. You can pay to take the small quiet train

Family of 4 roof top tent camping

Nice campground - close to river. .5 mile walk to town for shopping/eating. All sites have fire pit and picnic table. Bathrooms clean and private showers. A little pricey for a tent site - 45.00 and 5.00 for the dog but it’s California.

Placerville CA KOA

This is a KOA campground...NOT!  Dirty and grounds are full of sand burrs. Our dogs suffered daily with these in their paws.  Close spaces.  I know CA has been in a drought. But some gravel on sites would be a great idea. Will NEVER stay there again.

Nice spot on the river

First visit here. Our campsite was right on the river. We enjoyed our stay here and would likely return to lounge in the river during the summer. Nice trails to explore that run along the river’s edge. Easy trails for beginners.

Charming primitive campground!

Came to Mineral Bar in late September and loved it. It's only about an hour from Sacramento, including that windy road down into the canyon. The river was VERY low, but it was still fun to play around and float away the hot early fall afternoon.

The sites are fairly small and the campground…
