Beautiful Camp Sites

Campsites are incredibly beautiful and well spaced out. Great showers and satisfactory restrooms. Water and electric was $2 more at the campsite, well worth it. Some great little dog walks from and near the location. Was a great break from the summer heat. We'll definitely be back.

A calm secluded peaceful campground.

Location, location, location.  While this campgrounds proximity (~1mile) to the beach and Klammath River make it an obvious winner, it's the more subtle things that will bring you back to Kamp Klammath.  This Kamp has hands down the friendliest and most helpful staff you could ask for.  The large common patio and chairs beckon campers to just sit and appreciate the calm and coastal air.  The Kamp has everything a hard sided camper could ask for (all hookups and utilities) but if you just happen to be a dirt camper (TENT campers  listen up!), this place is for you.  There are wide deep cul-de-sac type tent sites hidden in the architecture of the bushes and trees that surround the sites.  Kind of like having your own private nook to camp in.  This Kampground gets a "come back here" note on my Google Maps favorites.

Great location by the river and coast

The friendliest staff you will ever meet, and we met a few of them. Check in was easy and we were escorted to our campsite. Once set up, the camp side was very close to our neighbors. Expect no privacy. Perhaps they should put up a patrician of lattice or something between the sites.  The utilities are somewhat confusing. In one of the pictures below, you can see a sewer access under the picnic table. Not sure why. We were told to use the one with the rest of utilities. One camper, came and dumped his RV using this sewer and said it was on the map as the one to use. It was a good stay never the less but I think the staff needed to tweak a few things.

Last Minute Stay

My friend and I came here super last minute and had the best time at this campsite. They are generous with their firewood and have a whole store up front. The staff was so so friendly and welcoming. This was our favorite camping spot so far. They also have a volleyball and tether ball court with balls to rent which made it extra fun. Free showers to use and laundry on site for $4. Would come back any time. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Quietest in Klamath, clean, nice staff

We are traveling in a truck bed camper and got one of the last "Mesa" spots up on the hill. This was a nice area where the bigger RVs park, but because of that, there are no bathrooms, so it was a long walk to the new, very clean, bathrooms by the office. It was a VERY long walk to the one shower building, which is in reasonable shape.

There are a lot of campgrounds here, but this seems to be the furthest from the 101. Another CG had a nice view of the river but I would stay here again.

Ps, bring your own firewood... It is crazy expensive, wet, and had thick bark. I joked that it was a "smoke generator", not a fire pit.

Peace and Quiet

Stopped here for a night so that I could be close to the Redwood Parks. I opted for one of the more secluded sites that cost a few dollars more, but ended up being glad I splurged. The regular tent sites are close together but not bad. The secluded spots offer a good deal of privacy. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Staff was friendly.

Solid Base Camp

We stayed here for a few nights during the off season. It was not busy at all and so was fairly private for us. However, I could see it being a bit close together during peak time. It suited our needs for the time though. Hosts were friendly. Showers were closed when we were there so cannot attest to those. If you aren’t planning on being around the campsite and want a great location I’d suggest staying here. Just down the road you come on is a beach as well. Here we saw seals just off the water barking away.

Great park with great people!

We had so much fun exploring the Redwoods from Kamp Klamath. It’s also an easy bike ride to the mouth of the Klamath River and the beach which is super cool. The staff here really makes the place. Joyce at the front desk was so welcoming and full of great info & intel and everyone you run into is just really friendly. Our first night there Joyce was even hosting an outdoor movie night for the kids and ours had a blast. My hope is that they’re able to bring back the Saturday Salmon BBQ by the time we get back here next season!

Great camp site, clean facilities, awesome staff and a great location to explore the redwoods. This was an unexpected highlight of our trip

The hosts were the nicest people!

When we arrived we had a tent spot reserved for our Sprinter van, however the spot was a little too small. The hosts were very kind and took us around the site to find a suitable location. There were spots with full hookups but we didn't require them. Our spot was quiet and private. The bathrooms and showers were clean.

Great BUT noisy

This campground has been awesome. The hosts are friendly and fun, the facilities are well maintained and there are perks like showers and laundry machines. My only complaint is that it is loud. There are quiet hours but the campground hosts aren’t very intent on holding campers to them. Given the fact that this site is so family friendly, noise is less of a concern for those who camp here. If you aren’t worried about noise, this is a great spot but if you prefer being remote when camping, I would look somewhere else first,

Wonderful Experience

My family and I tented one night while on a cross country road trip. The campground is nestled back along the Klamath River, almost to the Pacific Ocean. The front office was nice with some basic food items one might forget. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. After checking us in, led us right to our site. Informed us of places to check out and had some menus available for restaurants in town. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. The kids enjoyed the playground and horseshoe pits. We also went down the road to the ocean where we watched seals, sea lions and whales!

We would stay there as the vacation and not just a stop over during a road trip.

Not Bad; New Ownership

This campground looked good on paper. Overall it wasn't bad but it was clear that the new owners are making some changes. The facilities are less than ideal. There was one toilet for women for 30+ campers. The two showers were dirty even after some men came to clean them on Monday (3 days after I arrived). The hosts were nice. The biggest challenge was that I stayed in the campground during the days instead of venturing out as many others did. This means I listened to the bobcat all day some days moving picnic tables and such. Then the mower came and mowed ALL day without break. The noise was less than ideal but I recognize it was important to prepare for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Nice stop, Great Staff

Stopped in while traveling to visit Redwood National/State Park. Great friendly staff, clean grounds and bathrooms, and hot showers (free). Our site was well maintained, but there were no grates on the fire pits to cook on. The camp has a garden that they told us to help ourselves to (not sure if it’s like that all year or because growing season is over). Camp store has what you need. Heard they have a great barbecue and live music in the summer, may need to go back. Camp has WiFi, but it was slow (for me anyway). We did travel during the off season so there were plenty of sites. I would recommend making reservations during summer, especially when barbecue and live music is going on.

My best friend and I are traveling cross country from Chicago, we’re two young females and we pulled up at around 7:30/8 pm and the owner Gary came right up to us and helped us out, invited us to the camps community bbq and was so hospitable, he made sure we had everything we needed. It’s close to a secret beach where the seals feed and you can sit on the beach to watch the perfect sunset! The bathrooms and showers were always clean which is a HUGE plus! 10/10 would recommend I can’t wait to go back.

Kamp Klamath is within walking distance to the mouth of the Klamath River and centrally located within the Redwood region. The campground is very rustic, clean, very basic, and quiet. Laundry room is actually located inside a tin shed. Small store for basic supplies. Picnic tables and fire pits at each site. During the summer months they offer a weekly meal event at their pavilion. Management was very friendly and accommodating.
