Bike paths & Blackberries!

We had a great time exploring Anacortes from Fidalgo. The bike path is awesome and takes you right into old downtown and the great shops and food. The kids loved picking all the wild blackberries that seem to grow everywhere. Would’ve been fun to go clamming off the beach but ran out of time.

Great Base Camp

We had stopped in for a night on the way from Anacortes to OP Nat’l Park in order to check out Deception Pass and wish we had time for another night or two. Great park, super clean and well run.

Location, location, location!

Yea, it’s a bit close to HW2 but it’s such a short walk to main street Leavenworth, shops, & coffee that it more than makes up for it. Great hosts, clean camp, and the locale make for a great spot.

Great Park on the Mighty Columbia

Totally stumbled onto this spot on the first night of a two week road trip down the OR & NorCal coast. We were just looking for a place to crash for the night but turns out this is a little gem. Right on the Columbia and the river front spots have great views, it’s a hoot watching all the boat traffic and wind/kite boarders right off shore. There are also a couple of awesome fruit stands/stores with the BEST nectarines & peaches ever. It’s also cool that this is right in the Maryhill State Park which is a quirky but cool place…there’s a life sized replica of Stonehenge?! Also, Maryhill Winery has a tasting room right at entrance to the park…loved that :)

It really is warmer here!!

Everything we read talked about this being a micro-climate that’s warmer than the rest of the OR coast but we were skeptical for sure. Turns out it was totally true…it was so much warmer here than either Bandon or Newport! The layout of the park is great (especially the lower loop) and the beach is just awesome. The camp hosts are super helpful but they do run a tight ship…make sure you’re ready to check out on time :) Can’t wait to get back to Humbug and next time we’re hiking the mountain!

Great park with great people!

We had so much fun exploring the Redwoods from Kamp Klamath. It’s also an easy bike ride to the mouth of the Klamath River and the beach which is super cool. The staff here really makes the place. Joyce at the front desk was so welcoming and full of great info & intel and everyone you run into is just really friendly. Our first night there Joyce was even hosting an outdoor movie night for the kids and ours had a blast. My hope is that they’re able to bring back the Saturday Salmon BBQ by the time we get back here next season!

Awesome Find!

Nicole & David have created a real gem of a little park. Not many spots but if you’re lucky enough to find one available grab it. Just off the 101 but feels really private & super quiet. The property is nicely tree’d and nice touches like the potted plants on the picnic tables abound. Super clean bathrooms, restrooms, laundrey (coin). We had a great time walking/biking into old town Bandon to eat & rode a bit further to the beach. Our neighbors Mike & Carole even hooked us up with extra crab they’d caught and it made for an amazing dinner. Great spot for sure!

Great spot

Awesome mid-size park. Private feel to the sites, nice landscaping, super clean showers & restrooms. Short walk to beach and old town Taft with shops & restaurants.

So Awesome!

We lucked into a spot at Bandon Wayside and it was a highlight of our Oregon Coast to Redwoods RV tour. Nicole & David run a great little park. You’re just off the 101 but it feels super private & quiet. You’re surrounded by big trees, super nice showers/laundry/restrooms, and the nice touches abound. Our camp neighbors, Mike & Carole, caught their limit of crab off the Bandon marina pier that morning and shared their catch with us which made for an amazing dinner! Great spot and can’t wait to get back.
