We showed up around 8 PM on a Friday and was still able to get a spot at this nice, quiet campground. It was a very peaceful spot since the gravel leading To it is quite a few miles off the highway. The lake was gorgeous with little boat traffic as well. Sites were large, private, and spread out. Some sites are reservable while others are FCFS. There were still a few open sites throughout the weekend.
We stayed here with family over Memorial weekend. Lots of activities and suited for RV/campers. Pool and two hot tubs throughout as well as a convenience store. Also mini golf as well as a pond you can fish out of. Sites close together with no privacy.
Fantastic location with a calm to it. Due to substantial flooding in the area as well as being con the cold side but the campground was fairly empty with maybe 10 other individuals camping. Our campsite was right next to the lake where we were able to walk down and lunch our kayaks. Loved the quietness of this location.
We got site 13 and it was an absolutely beautiful view with access to Lake Superior and a view of the lighthouse. Due to snow and mud we were unable to use the carts to haul our gear. Site was very large with fire pit and bear box. It was very private as well.
Nice campground with all the amenities. Gets quite loud though. Great location to a lot of lakes and hikes. We stayed at a walk in site that was nice and private.
We stayed here for a few nights during the off season. It was not busy at all and so was fairly private for us. However, I could see it being a bit close together during peak time. It suited our needs for the time though. Hosts were friendly. Showers were closed when we were there so cannot attest to those. If you aren’t planning on being around the campsite and want a great location I’d suggest staying here. Just down the road you come on is a beach as well. Here we saw seals just off the water barking away.
We had a walk in site here. There was another walk site somewhat near us but they were very quiet. It was a nice wooded spot and a nice base camp for our nearby exploring. Nearby access to the river was also nice on hot days.
We stayed here over the 4th of July and it was very quiet. It was a nice tranquil place to stay. It was very private and a nice place to relax, especially seeing as it was the 4th of July. However, there is no cell service and the nearest town is a decent drive away. Also, we were there a couple days prior but on the 4th sand flies were absolutely terrible. To the point you almost couldn’t be outside. But the days leading up to that we hardly had an issue with the bugs minus the mosquitos at night.
We camped here for 1 week at the end of July. The views were absolutely breathtaking. We rolled in around 5:30 AM and waited to find a good site where someone was packing up. We finally found a location close to the water so the kids could easily access and cool off. It was right next to a parking area for the water but it really wasn’t too bad. The campsite was fairly private. We were there mostly at night anyways and everyone seemed to respect the quiet time hours. Would definitely camp here again.
I have camped at the walk in sites on the upper loop and once on the lower loop with a lake view across the beach access area. The lower loop was much busier with the beach access right there but we still thoroughly enjoyed the site with quick access to the lake and a beautiful view. The cart in sites on the upper loop were nice and private. We loved that we didn’t really have anyone near us and we still had a lake view. Only downfall was traffic noise.
Nice camping spot but gets fairly crowded. Sites are rather close and open as well.
This is a wonderfully ran campground. It can be loud at times but if you are lucky enough to get a lakeside campsite, the views of Lake Superior are gorgeous.
We went on a road trip out west with no plans. We were planning on just winging it the whole trip so the last two nights we considered staying in a hotel but wanted to stop at Jedediah to see if their was anything open. Sure enough it was widely available. We found site 104 which was absolutely gorgeous and huge. Situated between large Redwoods it was an absolute beautiful retreat. Seeing as it was a bit of an off peak season the campground was very quiet. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.
