Welcome to Ouachita River Haven!

Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Property has 1000 ft of river access, with canoe & kayak docks, swimming hole, volleyball and tetherball, horseshoes, swings.

We offer hiking, mountain biking, and river shuttles as well as canoe/kayak/tube rentals and shuttles. Such trips should be reserved in advance by messaging us or visiting our website.

Our office sells firewood for $5/bundle. We also have a small array of custom woodwork items from our woodshop, freeze dried snacks and hiking restocks, food from local vendors, and souvenirs!

All primitive sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and campfire grill grate.

Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet.

Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night.

Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms

Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds.

We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper.



Ouachita River Haven

## Overview

Kirby Landing Campground is located on Lake Greeson on the beautiful Little Missouri River in Pike County, Arkansas.   
  
The lake is approximately 12 miles long with 7,260 surface acres of water for water sports, picnicking and hiking along the forested lake shore.

## Recreation

The Bear Creek Cycle Trail, located within the campground, is a draw for off-road enthusiasts. There are also 30 miles of walking, nature and cycling trails for public use.   
  
Lake Greeson is recognized for its rich variety of game fish, including large mouth, stripped, spotted, small mouth and white bass, as well as flathead and channel catfish, black and white crappie, walleye and blue gill.   
  
The clear waters offer an excellent opportunity for many boating activities including water skiing, tubing, personal water craft, cruising and fishing. Four marinas at Lake Greeson offer boaters fuel, boat rentals and picnic and fishing supplies.   
  
The best opportunity for hunting lies within the Lake Greeson Wildlife Management Area. Deer, quail, turkey, squirrel and rabbits are the primary game.

## Facilities

Kirby Landing offers more than 100 campsites, each with 50-amp electrical hookup and water. Each site provides a picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill and lantern pole.   
  
Other amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, swim beach, playground, boat ramp and marina.

## Natural Features

Central Arkansas is mild and somewhat humid in spring and fall, hot and very humid in summer and variable in winter, where temperatures may range from below freezing to the 60s.   
  
Loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum and oak are the dominant tree species on upland areas of the lake, while bottomland hardwoods are common along rivers, creeks and streams that enter the lake.   
  
The public lands around Lake Greeson provide a variety of habitats for numerous species of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, geese, southern bald eagles, migratory waterfowl and songbirds. Bald eagles are an attraction for visitors each winter.

Ouachita National Forest and Hot Springs National Park are within a two-hour drive from this facility. Crater of Diamonds State Park is within 30 miles of the campground. It is the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public.

Located in a scenic setting in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains, Lake Greeson and the Little Missouri River create a destination for outdoor recreation. Situated on Lake Greeson, Daisy State Park is a popular place for fishing and kayaking with rentals available. Lake tours offer views of magnificent rock formations that you may not otherwise see. The Little Missouri River also offers impressive fishing for trout and excellent floating in the spring. Other activities include ATV riding on the Bear Cycle Trail. Daisy is near Crater of Diamonds State Park which makes a great day trip from your campsite. There are three YURTs, 100 campsites (26 Class A, 56 Class B, and 18 tent sites), picnic areas, a pavilion, launch ramps, and a playground.
