Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina's lakeside sites welcome pets across its shaded, tree-filled property. Campers bringing dogs to Greers Ferry Lake can choose from several pet-friendly Corps of Engineers campgrounds including John F. Kennedy, Sugar Loaf, Devil's Fork, and Heber Springs, all featuring water and electric hookups suitable for both tent and RV camping. The Devil's Fork campground provides picnic tables alongside pet-friendly accommodations, while Sugar Loaf offers camping with views of the mountain in the background. Restroom facilities vary between locations, with some campgrounds providing showers while others have vault toilets only. Sites at these campgrounds generally provide good spacing between neighbors, giving pets room to relax without disturbing other campers. The campgrounds maintain strict leash policies for all pets, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.

Wooded hiking trails near these pet-friendly campgrounds offer excellent exercise opportunities for dogs, particularly at Sugar Loaf Mountain where a $5 day entry fee ($2 for walk-ins) grants access to scenic trails with lake views. Many campsites feature direct lake access where dogs can cool off after a hike, though owners should supervise pets around water. The Fairfield Bay area provides beautiful vistas for outdoor adventures with pets, though some facilities require maintenance - bathhouses at certain campgrounds have been reported as needing cleaning and repairs. Visitors camping with pets should bring extra supplies as many of these rural campgrounds are located away from stores and pet services. Campsites fill quickly during peak season (May through September), so advance reservations through Recreation.gov are recommended for anyone planning to camp with pets at these popular lakeside destinations.

COE Greers Ferry Lake Devil's Fork Campground

      Floating and boating

This is one of several campgrounds to choose from around Greers Ferry Lake that are operated by the Corps of Engineers (COE), and there are a few good reasons to choose it. A good amount of sand is dumped near the swim beaches, improving on the natural and concrete poured banks. There is a good breakfast buffet up the road at Janssen's. A bit farther away, the Little Red at Indian Hill's is well reviewed by foodies, though I haven't tried it. This COE campground has a nicer feel than the one at the Fairfield Bay Marina, yet is still within a reasonable distance to visit the marina for a ferry ride to the island Sugarloaf Mountain (a must-do 1-2 hour hike with terrific views of the lake). Although, I have not tried Sugar Loaf campground, which also offers a dock and marina within sight of the mountain. On the downside at Devil's Fork, most sites are a long walk away from the bathhouse with showers. The toilets that do not have a shower smell strongly of human waste by evening hours, so avoid campsites directly by them.

Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina

I’d give 6 stars if possible

The Fairfield Bay/Greers Ferry lake area in general is my heaven on earth, and this marina/campground is smack dab in the middle of it. I’ve spent many, many wonderful days and nights here throughout my life. The marina has a very nice, well stocked shop with a little cafe around the corner. I remember one of my favorite things when I went there as a child was when they’d give me a bag of fish food to throw to the massive catfish off the dock. If you enjoy anything nature related this is the place to be! The lake is amazing and a wonderful place to fish or just boat around on. If you like hiking, you can go less than a quarter mile off almost any main road and see abundant wildlife, a meandering creek, sometimes even a waterfall! There are hiking trails literally everywhere, of all kinds of difficulty levels. I could think of no place I’d rather be right now than laid up in a hammock at this campground after a long day of fun! Highly recommend!!!

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

      National Park Worthy State Park

We decided on Petit Jean State Park to be our first Arkansas camping experience and it did not disappoint! The area in and surrounding the park is absolutely stunning with amazing hiking opportunities. Waterfalls, rock outcroppings, flora and fauna… it’s all here! The site was surrounded by hardwood and pines and very private. Extremely pet friendly as well. We highly recommended staying here!

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

      All kinds of camping options

Love this place because there are so many types of camp sites available. Great areas to look around and hike. Restaurant is pretty decent and breakfast was hot and delicious. There’s a little petting zoo thing close by for kids. Playground was great.

Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental

      Hot in summer

This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees. Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8. The fishing is good. It’s a pet friendly site however if your dogs bark neighbors will complain. The manager is friendly. They do not have trash pick up service; you just take your trash to a dumpster at the end of the camp, which is not a big deal. No grill available but has picnic tables and fire ring. WI-FI aid very good.

      Morrilton RV Park

      next to interstate

We drove through looking for a place to stay. It was a very nice park with full hook-ups.cabins, Very clean and well kept. It's pet friendly and accommodates larger RVs. It pretty much has everything. Looked really great except it is right next to I40. LOTS of noise so we decided to move on.

    Guide to Fairfield Bay

Several Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds near Fairfield Bay allow pets throughout their facilities, including Devils Fork, Sugar Loaf, and Shiloh Recreation Areas on Greers Ferry Lake. These sites offer electric hookups (mostly 50-amp), water hookups, and designated picnic areas where leashed pets can join their owners. Campground hosts at Devils Fork are notably pet-friendly, often checking on campers with animals after storms. The concrete pads at many lakeside sites provide ample space for pet containment, though tent campers sometimes find the pads restrictive since picnic tables are typically chained down and difficult to move for pet enclosures.

Hiking trails surrounding Greers Ferry Lake provide excellent pet exercise opportunities with Sugar Loaf Mountain offering one of the area's premier dog-friendly hiking experiences. Most campgrounds require pets to remain leashed in camping areas, though several swimming beaches permit supervised water access for dogs during less crowded periods. Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina features waterfront sites with shade trees and lake views, though bathroom facilities receive mixed reviews for cleanliness and maintenance. Seasonal operations affect availability, with most pet-friendly campgrounds open May through September. Wildlife is abundant throughout the region, so pet owners should maintain awareness of potential encounters with deer, rabbits, and wild turkeys when walking dogs along shoreline paths.
