Dirt surface, established fire rings, and room for up to three truck-camper-sized rigs define this free dispersed site along FR1322A, a high-clearance ATV trailhead just off Adams Mountain Road in the Ozark National Forest north of Hector. The site sits close to the gravel road, so passing headlights are a factor on evenings with traffic. Poison ivy is present in the surrounding vegetation. A 1.25-mile hike along the ATV trail leads to a small unnamed waterfall, though it may not run during dry periods. T-Mobile 5G reaches the site with two bars; AT&T LTE is intermittent. It suits group dispersed campers, ATV riders, and hikers who want free National Forest access with a fire ring already in place.
Description
The U.S. Forest Service maintains all of the developed recreation areas. Primitive camping is allowed anywhere but on food plots and areas marked closed to camping.
