A Big Empty Dirt Lot

There is an envelope drop to pay for staying here and they call this place The Shoot Out Arena RV Park Overnight Camping. I hope I am reviewing the right place here. It is basically just a big empty dirt lot. Like the Wild West, you just park anywhere you want. There are zero services - I mean zero. Not even a garbage can. But man - did we love it here. We arrived on a Monday and we’re going to stay for 3 days. We had so much fun and it was central to go see so many things, that we added 4 more days here. Then we added another day. A total of nine days in all. You must be self sufficient and have tanks big enough for your length of stay. We had ATT service. Although there were no rules posted, we shut down our generator at a decent hour. Everyone else was courteous as well. While we were here, They had the April Fools Donkey Dash, and it ran right by our fifth wheel. I do believe they will be making changes here in the near future and adding full hook ups. That’s too bad because it is so affordable at $10 per night. Driving Tip: GPS will take you to fourth street and try to run you through the shootout. Take 3rd street and it will lead you right down to the lot. It is behind the shootout arena.

Siteno site number - just the back corner of the lot.

Convenient to explore Toombstone

Park and walk to explore the town. No frills, $10/night gets you a parking spot side by side to someone else. This is ok with us since we are here for the touristy thing. Campers are not always respectful with their loud generators running and this camp spot does not declare quiet hours.

SiteBy the only trees, lucky us.

Quite and convenient

For $10 dry camping at the edge of town. This saves time and gas. Very basic. Envelope drop box. Plenty of space to park.

Convenient to town

It’s just a giant gravel parking lot but it’s right in town so you can walk to all the attractions. It would be nice if they had a garbage can but there are no amenities at all.

10 star rating

The campground is spacious with gorgeous scenery. The hosts were more than accommodating when we had issues with our generator. They have been extremely kind and very helpful. They are the best hosts Ive met yet. much better service than what I expected before we came to town. Better service than any RV park or campground that Ive stayed at.

I am your huckleberry

Ten bucks to have an area that is within walking distance to Tombstone. Just blocks away. The spaces are just a space, but John is super kind and made it an easy decision to stay. There was even a rodeo right next to the lot on Presidents Day weekend so I stayed for two nights. The town is fun to checkout. The space is basically whatever, but location is excellent.

Convenience cheap central location

We stayed one night and checked out Tombstone. Ten bucks for a flat spacious place one block from the main street area. Very convenient for a dry camp night. Nice guy from Tennessee operates it. Give them a try.

Sitelarge area for all sized rigs.

Stones throw from the olde West

This is a bare bones campground but at $10 a night right next to the old town Tombstone, it's perfect. There is plenty of sun for solar. Some people used generators. It was very quiet. The host, John. Is very friendly and helpful. The campground is a short walk to Tombstone. Good place to relax and take in the sights and enjoy good food.

Great spot

We're here on January 21. 20 RVs. Quiet and I'm told the Sheriff make passes throughout the night. A great deal at 10 bucks 5 min walk to historic Tombstone. Park all day and spend the night.

Close to town

It's a small dirt circle with little to no privace and they charge 10 dollars a night whether or not you're an obnoxiously large RV or a chump just backpacking.

As it's lacking any facilities showers, water, holes in the ground for bathrooms, you're honestly better off finding some free blm land. Unless you're incapable for what ever reason to drive 10 minutes into town.

Pull into bottom lot!

Right off the “western strip” in Tombstone. Walking distance! The directions only take you to the first parking lot, travel down one more for campers/rv. Only $10, no hookups or amenities but talk of electric in the near future. Also rodeo right next door, not sure on the dates for that, we missed it. Overall great experience, with a nice greeting from the host as well.

Great Idea 💡

It is just an empty field with a box with envelopes for you to leave your $10 a night in. There were spots where it looked like they had a fire but I don't think that's allowed out here since there's such a fire danger. But this is a good idea if you're in a pinch you can't find a place to stay.

SiteWe did not stay, just visited for The Dyrt.

We invite you to actually stay with us in the future so we have the opportunity to earn a 5 star review from you.

Enclosed fires are allowed when fire bans are not in force. upon check-in guests are given information about calling our local fire department to ask if campfires are allowed during their stay.

I wish we would have had the opportunity to meet you in person. I think that would have changed your experience and we would have been able to answer your questions.

Hope to see you soon.

Scenes Straight Out Of the Movie, Tombstone, for $10 a Night

This was a favorite of ours on the Arizona campgrounds we visited this winter. With Covid restrictions in place, the town was pretty empty when we visited in January, 2021.

Even so, the gunfight show went on every hour (last one at 3 pm), and we were able to do the money tour (highly recommend). We visited the Tombstone Brewery, and Oriental Saloon. All of this from the convenience of this parking lot.

It is located at the end of the street beside Tombstone City Hall. (Which is at 306 E. Fremont St.)

We saw roadrunners back here, and found a small caves, too. Stayed 2 nights and checked out the copper mine in Bisbee, about 40 minutes away. Food shopping in Sierra Vista.

Convenient and cheap

I wish every town had a spot like this.  It's perfect if you just need a spot to sleep and park your vehicle while you explore the town.

This is a large dirt lot, located in Tombstone, where you can park for 24 hours ($10 for RVs and $5 for cars). Self payment required at drop box, cash only.  Find a spot that works for you and park for the night.  You can easily walk to Tombstone's tourist area from here.

Be aware that during the day you can hear the gunshots from the reenactment of the O.K. Coral gun fight, if you have nervous dogs.  The night was quiet and peaceful.

Good cell service. No amenities or services here, not even a trash can.  Did not see anyone who appeared to be a host, but in the morning the marshal came down and drove through the lot to check on things, which was nice.

There were only a few other rigs here when we were here (early Dec) but according to a local vendor the busy season here is late Dec to June so it may get crowded during those months.
