Dispersed sites with fire rings and some picnic tables spread across this free camping area in Tonto National Forest. The Forest Service maintains vault toilets, and campers can bring pets and enjoy campfires during the mid-May through mid-October season. RVs up to 16 feet can access the sites from the road without difficulty.
Weekend crowds arrive quickly, particularly during hunting season when the area becomes a popular base camp. Shade trees provide cover at many sites, and a nearby creek offers the sound of flowing water. For additional dispersed options, campers can explore boondocking near Tonto National Forest. Plan to arrive early on weekends to secure a preferred spot.
