Free-range cattle wandering into camp is one of the more distinctive features at 1483 Off Road, a free dispersed site within Tonto National Forest. Campers pull off the road roughly 150 yards, where existing rock fire rings mark previous use. The access road is manageable for most rigs, though trailers over 26 feet and motorhomes are not recommended. Gates along the route should be kept closed. Cell service is available, and pets are welcome. This site works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with pack-in, pack-out conditions and open-range livestock.
