Cherry Creek Road turns to dirt quickly and gets rougher the deeper you go, with steep grades and potholes that require 4WD and high clearance. No services exist out here. Campers choose their own site along the road, with flat pullouts appearing at intervals for several miles into Tonto National Forest. Water is not available roadside; Cherry Creek itself sits another 3 to 5 miles further in. Come fully supplied. This area draws hikers, mountain bikers, and OHV riders, and works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable navigating unmaintained forest roads far from town.
