Quiet and well laid out

Nice county campground with hiking and biking. No water hookups and no showers but outdoor dishwashing station available. Some sites are fairly small and not level. Only a few would take big rigs. Great desert views.

Free BLM

Good place for a temporary camp. It’s pretty close to the road so it’s noisy. Very close to town for supplies or site seeing.

Happy Accident!

I booked Gilbert Ray based on campground location. We wanted to be close enough to Tucson for day trips yet far enough out to enjoy some peace and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the place. Sunrises and sunsets are something to behold!

Good place to stay near Saquaro National Park

This is a big lot right off the side of the highway. A lot of people in the area with tents and campers. Super close to gas stations and places to eat. Free of course and not a lot of privacy but all in all a good place to stay in a pinch!

State Park

We camped in the Ringtail loop which is open to individual camping from January through March (usually a group camping area). It is a big gravel parking lot where they jam everyone in there. Super tight! Decent hiking trails from the park especially Romero Canyon trail. Bathrooms/showers were…

Great, but tight

Gorgeous desert, close to Saguaro National part West side, flush toilets and helpful camp hosts. The spots on A loop at least were super snug. Some larger ones against open desert that we will shoot for next trip. Great jumping off spot for the national park.

Plenty to do

I have stayed here a twice and enjoyed both visits. Bathrooms are clean and all sites are well maintained. No wood fires are allowed but you can bring a propane fire pit. Plenty of trails are nearby.

It's just a spot to park, honestly..

It's truely justa spot to park. We got there and it was kind of packed. We didn't want to park right next to other people so we drove down the road a bit to the east of the little mountain. We found a spot. That night police came blasting through shining spot lights, it appeared as though they were…

Beautiful state park campground. Huge, level, paved sites. All the sites in the B loops have water and electric( 20A, 30A, and 50A). Picnic table and bbq. No fire pits. Dump station near exit of loops and another near state park entrance. Nice selection of pull through and back-in sites. We had a…

Good Arizona Experience

If you want the environment you expect Arizona to be, this is the place. Plenty of spots to choose from, open to all types of camping. I chose to tent here, but the majority of people were in RVs. Spots weren’t too hard to find although there were a lot of people. The roads back to it were pretty…
