Hells Hole Camp Site

A single pond draws wildlife and creates an oasis feel at this dispersed site off Mormon Lake's back roads. Campers find both open grassland and forested areas, with ducks making their home at the water feature that serves as a drinking spot for various animals throughout the day. The access road requires careful navigation due to exposed metal cables and hazardous ground conditions near the trees.

RVs up to 25 feet can access the site, though walking the terrain first helps identify safe driving paths and avoid underground obstacles. Campfires are permitted, and the July 4th holiday period saw no other visitors according to recent reports. The combination of water access and varied terrain makes this spot work well for campers comfortable with primitive conditions and careful route planning.

Dispersed 91c, worth the wait to find the perfect spot!!!

Absolutely beautiful back off this road. No other person in site for the July 4th holiday. Both open areas of grassland and forest, complete with a large pond and little duck so calls it home. Be careful of the drive to the trees, there are crazy metal ropes spawning from a hole that looks like a gateway to the underworld! It tried eating my truck when I wasn’t paying enough attention - so beware, walk the ground first so you know where to drive. The beauty is worth it! Lots of animals come to drink from the pond and you get a hell of a view! No pun intended hahha.
