Reservations are available at Happy Trails Campground & Mini Motel, a privately run facility in campgrounds around Meadview that takes in full hookup RVs up to 50 feet, tent campers, and horse campers under the same roof. Rates run $18 to $95 per night depending on site type, and the campground stays open year-round. One note on navigation: reviewers consistently flag that Google Maps directions lead through a confusing route, and the campground's own instructions are worth following instead.
Sites are level and solid, with electric, water, and sewer hookups available for RVs, plus a dump station, WiFi, showers, and drinking water on-site. Spaces are large enough to accommodate a rig, a boat, and ATVs together, which makes this a practical base for Lake Mead visits. The lake's water level has dropped significantly in recent years, and at least one camper notes that low water affects handicap access at the shoreline. The area has ATV trails in multiple directions and canyon access within a short drive.
The campground is family-operated, and the hosts draw consistent mention across reviews for being approachable without being intrusive. Free coffee in the mornings is a recurring detail. "Small town, big heart is what comes to mind," notes Whitney W. Nights here tend to be quiet, and the open desert setting gives unobstructed sightlines toward the Grand Wash Cliffs and a dark enough sky for stargazing. Pets are allowed throughout.
South Cove RV Resort & Motel is a nearby alternative for campers who want a different setup in the same corridor.
Description
Our quaint cozy Mini Motel is a space we are very proud of. It was created many many years ago to house the workers that were building Route 66. Historic charm is always a plus in my book. So we decided to perk it up a few notches and remodel it.
Each room is equipped with its own vanity area, sink, bathroom with shower & tub, closet space and beds with 3″ gel memory foam for a comfortable nights sleep.
If you need to heat something up there are microwaves in each room, as well as a desk area & chair, dresser, TV and blackout drapes. There really is nothing missing for you.! Also, in our Route 66 room we have a mini fridge. So if you might need a fridge, maybe for a longer stay, be sure to request the Route 66 room.
My most favorite about each room is that you can actually be in bed and see the west rim of the Grand Wash.! Its a site you need to see for your self!
