Nice stay close to Grand Canyon

Stop before going to Grand Canyon.
Many, many sites. Some aren’t close to level but several are.
We got a good spot to relax, work on some solar, and sleep before going to Grand Canyon.
There is an airport very close and many helicopters coming over. Not too bad though , can’t really hear them in the trees until they pass over. Saw some cows and heard an elk bugle.

FSR 302 close to Grand Canyon

First time camping in BLM. Didn’t know what to expect. Found a spot 3422K around 5:20 PM - didn’t see anyone else camping up to that point.

Site entry was level and the site itself was level.

Up until 5:30/5:40 there were helicopters flying low nearby. Once they stopped, very quiet.

Decent Enough

If your dry camping and want close to the Grand Canyon this is a great spot. However be aware that there are choppers flying very low over this camp area. The wind from the propellers even shook my trailer a few times. Also they ate smaller spaces so I wouldnt expect to get a bigger rig in here. Mine is 26 feet and fits snug into these spots. There are a few bigger spaces along the road coming in. Also the tree cover is pretty good so you have a lot of shade but did cause some issues with keeping a good solar charge.

Not jaw dropping but nice!

This spot is kinda like camping back home. Trees all around you and no absolutely breathtaking views but still super peaceful! Long road with quite a few pull offs. Sites were separated enough for privacy but still close enough to feel safe!

Right outside GCNP

Only ran into one other vehicle camping here. Not even 10 mins outside the park. Road was easy for my two wheel car to access and enough tree coverage for privacy

Nice boondocking spot close to Grand Canyon NP south entrance

Spent 4 nights in early December. Road in was fairly smooth with minor washboard, and sites were relatively easy to identify. Verizon service was fair, averaging 2 bars 4GLTE during our stay. The night sky was amazing and we even saw a group of wild/feral horses at one point! There was a stone fire ring at our site which was a nice touch. We will definitely stay again next time we visit the GC!

Peaceful December Stay

The spot was very easy to find and the best part was we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!

Very quiet and pretty cold at night but it warms up quick when the sunrises.

Loved staying here!

I stayed here for 3 nights and it sure was peaceful! You are just 1 mile from town and 3 miles from the South Rim entrance. There are at least 50 sites to pick from, just turn down a little dirt road and you’ll find them all! During my stay, I saw a cow, 2 wild horses and an elk. Coyotes howling in the early morning. It’s completely dry camping so please pack out your trash. Easy to not be surrounded by others if you wish. I had 3 bars of LTE via AT&T so I could work remotely. Perfect spot to get to the NP and you can’t beat free.

Good spot

If you are looking for a safe area that isn’t too far out of the way this spot is pretty nice. The spots go back pretty far and there is a lot of shade. I went during the week so it wasn’t as busy, However there are helicopter tours that go by over head that can get a bit annoying. Cell service is good, and you can wake up and be 5 minuets from a Starbucks (coffee is essential) and about 20 minuets from the Grand Caynon.

P.S if you are in a RV they have sites that are big enough for you guys!
