North of 4 Tanks

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Within Kaibab National Forest, North of 4 Tanks provides dispersed camping along Forest Road 328. The US Forest Service manages this drive-in area, though the first quarter mile of the access road remains closed to camping. Past Grand Canyon Trail Rides, multiple turnoffs offer suitable camping spots with decent dirt road conditions, though some ruts appear near turnoffs and the highway exit.

Individual sites work well for solo campers or small groups, with room for one to two tents. Finding level ground takes some effort, but established fire pits mark usable areas. T-Mobile coverage reaches the camping zones. The road quality makes this accessible to most vehicles, while the proximity to camping near Grand Canyon provides a convenient base for park visits.

Closest to Grand Canyon village

Although I stayed at Mathers campground I spent some time here and would stay here next time. Much more privacy yet you are still 15 minutes from a nice glass of Mir Soleil wine at the Lodge overlooking the canyon. Ignore the signs that say no camping. There is a horse trail the first quarter of a mile after that you can camp. The road was very easy with some bumps that most cars can handle.

SiteI forgot to check it was about halfway down the road.

Move on down the road

The first quarter mile of Forest Road 328 is closed to camping. But if you go past Grand Canyon trail rides you will find multiple turnoffs suitable for camping. The dirt road is quite good. There's some ruts where there are turnoffs, and right where you exit the highway. Good T-Mobile coverage.

Easy Safe spot

Sweet spot close to the road if you’re a lone camper. Decent amount of room for 1-2 tents, bit tricky finding flat spot, fire pit.
