Great views, not well maintained

We spent 2 nights here on our way to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. The spot was nice, right on the lake with nice mountain views. Sites were generally not level as it is situated on the hill down to the lake. Bathrooms were messy and half were out of order due to a maintenance project. The RV Dump station was also unavailable (same reason). During peak season I'm sure this is a great spot, but at the time of our visit it was a bit out of sorts. If we pass by again in the future we'll give it another try.

Incredible spot with Activities

Spent 5 nights at Azalea and had an absolute blast. The America the Beautiful access pass knocks the price down from $22/night to $11/night, so if you don't have it, get it! There were TONS of trails immediately accessible from most camp sites, and a short walk from the rest. Campground has potable water, flush toilets, sinks for doing dishes, dumpsters/recycling, and Verizon service was fair/good throughout our stay. Pets are allowed too! This spot is going in our favorites list for sure!

Beach camping on PCH!

Spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Campground has trash, porta-potties, and appeared to have potable spigots but didn't confirm. Verizon service was hit or miss, but with a booster it was usable. Nice fire rings and picnic tables. Only downside was highway noise, but the surf drowned out all but big-rigs. Saw dolphins and seals back to back days! We're so glad we went, and if we pass by again we will be staying for sure!

Beautiful spot right on the Kern River

Beautiful spot conveniently located only a couple miles outside of town. Dumpsters and put toilets provided on both sides of the Kern River. A larger group site on one side and dispersed sites on the other. Great, reliable Verizon service. Road access is rough in some places, but passable in our low-clearance rig. Days are typically windy so tenters beware. Some of the sites on the dispersed side could use some TLC, but for the price you can't complain. Seems like a great fishing spot, and there do appear to be hiking trails in the area. Glad we made the trip out, if we pass it again we will definitely stay again!

Great spot with activities

Spent the maximum amount of nights before taking off, we loved it here! Great Verizon service, toilets at the parking lot, several dumpster locations, and easy access to Lake Mead made this a place worth revisiting. The dust was a bit much, but that's too be expected. The road in was fairly rough in some spots, but our low-clearance rig made it just fine. Once you're in the park you can fill up on water and empty your tanks at nearby Las Vegas Bay campground. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful area with great hiking, agate-hunting, and cacti!

Spent the better part of a week here on our way through to Joshua Tree. Site was fairly level, road in was rocky and somewhat rutted but manageable. Verizon service came and went, but was overall fair. Saddle Mountain is beautiful and offers a great hike to any willing to do some scaling. The saguaro cacti are huge and everywhere, as are opportu items to find fire agate! Will definitely stay again if we pass through.

Unbelievable location!

Spent the better part of a week here, it was absolutely incredible! Amazing views, tons of wildlife, and only a few minutes drive from Badlands NP entrance! Relatively close to Wall as well if you need supplies. The road in was a little rough and uneven in spots, but totally doable even in a low-clearance rig. Tons of Class A's and large tow-behinds. Verizon service was amazing. Would 1000% stay again!

Decent campground, few amenities, in the middle of nowhere

Enjoyed three nights and generally had the place to ourselves excluding the host. The host was very nice. The fee station was out of order during our stay, so we paid via daily tickets at a place in Globe on our way out. The campground is right off the highway so there was a fair amount of traffic noise, but not unbearable. Little to do in the way of hikes within walking distance, but we enjoyed walking around the campground and into the woods to the north and east. Verizon service was great the entire time. Sites are well maintained and level. Vault toilets were clean. Each site has a steel fire ring and grate as well as a nice metal picnic table. There a a few group areas with full grills and communal tables. The campground appears fairly new.

Nice area, good access to Sedona, rough road access

Spent the better part of a week at a group site near the beginning of FR525. Road access near the highway entrance is fair, but gets significantly rougher the farther north you head. Rigs with lower clearance proceed with caution. Verizon cell service was low to fair, with some periods of no service. Sites overall were fair, with more group sites towardsthe entrance and more individual sites farther north. Not extremely level in most places, but leveling blocks help. 15 minutes from downtown Sedona and a bunch of great hikes. If visiting the area in the future I would stay again.

Nice off-season dispersed stay!

Spent three nights and enjoyed it quite a bit! Was extremely quiet during our stay, but seems to be a popular spot during the high season. Verizon service was spotty but we occasionally had reception. Road in was fair, rough at times, but doable in our low-clearance rig. Nice views from our spot, but the river was dry due to the on-going drought. Would stay again!

Enjoyed a quick one night stay

Spent a night there while passing through to Wyoming. Site was nice and fairly level, close access to the lake. Cow sounds at night which were kind of nice! Rough-ish washboard roads on the way in. No Verizon service. Wish we could have stayed longer and explored more, maybe next time!

Nice boondocking spot with access to Lake Michigan!

Spent a few nights here enjoying Manistee National Forest and Lake Michigan. During our stay we relocated from our original site to a bigger site further down the road heading south. Sites ranged from spacious to road-side turnouts with a wide range between. Verizon service was fair. Road access was fair as well but better suited for smaller rigs due to tight roads and numerous curves. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Michigan!

Loved this hidden gem of a campground in the UP!

Spent a couple nights here while touring the UP and absolutely loved it. The hosts were incredible, Verizon coverage was fair, and you can't beat that lake access. The sites offered great privacy and were fairly spacious. We loved it and will certainly be back next time we visit the UP!

Absolutely loved our stay!

Spent a single night here for my wife's birthday and it did not disappoint! Our site was conveniently located by the facilities and had a direct path down the dunes to the lakeshore beach. The only complaint we had was the insane number of biting flies we had to deal with, but even that wasn't enough to damper how great a time we had! We will be back!

Fair full-hookup RV park at Grand Canyon NP

Fairly nice RV park. Sites are close together and are relatively pricy, but with such close proximity to Mather Point it is to be expected. Verizon service was fantastic and the sites were nice and level. And we saw tons of elk right next to our site! Would stay again if hookups are needed during our next visit!

Nice boondocking spot close to Grand Canyon NP south entrance

Spent 4 nights in early December. Road in was fairly smooth with minor washboard, and sites were relatively easy to identify. Verizon service was fair, averaging 2 bars 4GLTE during our stay. The night sky was amazing and we even saw a group of wild/feral horses at one point! There was a stone fire ring at our site which was a nice touch. We will definitely stay again next time we visit the GC!

Not a bad spot when in Grand Canyon NP

Only the Pine Loop was open due to seasonal closures, but still plenty of sites to choose from. All of the sites are fairly close together with minimal privacy between. Bathrooms were well maintained. Cell service was great, and we often saw elk and deer roaming through the sites! Would stay again if passing through.

One of the best dispersed camping experiences yet!

Great location, cell service, and site options. Only 15ish minutes from Bryce Canyon NP entrance. Will absolutely stay again!

Another amazing boondocking location!

We had an amazing experience here for 2 nights. Great spot options, wildlife, and cell service all in one. And only 15 minutes from Bryce Canyon NP entrance. Will definitely stay again!

Nice area, beautiful mountain and lake views

Spent a few nights there, easy access to Saratoga Springs for water, dump, and groceries. Sites were fairly level, but there were some instances of trash and broken glass so be wary when dropping your RV or camper. Would stay again!
