Old Grand Canyon Airport Forest Road - Dispersed Camping

Easy access with 24ft RV 2WD. Lots of space, quiet and beautiful.

BUT: it looked like someone was hunting elks some days ago. We found leftovers just few meters next to Campspots (limbs, head, pelt), so better take one of the first spots if you wanna avoid it

I found the stone structure and parked next to it since I got there late. Had a great night sleep. Next morning ai followed the trail and saw many more spots. Plenty of clear sky for solar and Starlink. Had a great time.

Very easy to find. The gravel road you go down to get there is extremely well kept and there are lots of sites to choose from.

If you are in a big rv I would definitely suggest stopping at one of the first few sites that are wide open field type. You won’t fit in any farther down the road.

The size of the sites vary and some are have narrow paths to get to but overall I think pretty much anyone could find a site that suits them. I really liked being able to get further into the woods so I had lots of privacy and could not see the road.

The cell signal fluctuated a lot but overall it was pretty good. The farther down the road you go the worse the cell signal gets.

Extremely easy to drive down the maintained dirt roads. Skipped the 1st couple areas to come specifically to this one. There was 1 other camper but we never heard or saw them. Wonderful place to stay close to Grand Canyon. Fire Pits & Verizon 4G. Looks like it may be busier at other times of the year, based on number of fire rings about. We stayed March 29th-30th. Completely free.
